could you provide a translation, or is welsh just jibberish with a secret text message to actually say what you mean?

I picked three of those and debated a fourth.  As it stands, I would purchase two or three of the six shown.

Congrats everyone-winners especially!

Jenn wanted to show 3rd as it's more traditional but as there's not a 3rd prize I didn't know if it would be a bit like 'Look at what you could have won!' to those 3 people so in the end decided not to.

Does little victory dance  :boing: ... or bounce ;)

Thanks for the votes everyone :) Now I hope Whisper (and her birds) is cast-able ^^ I tried to make it so. But seeing i'm no caster I'm never 100% sure.

Given the level of talent in the other entries, I feel really uncomfortable winning.  :erm:
Machines we are sending to the skies,
Above us all.
And leave behind those who don't know,
Of the final day.
We leave in sleep those who don't know,
(and) we leave at dawn.
We are driven by the B-machine,
Wild B-machine - that never stops.

Okay, let me check my memory as refreshed by the pictures.....

Modern: I voted for  Whisper, Sienna Paco & Majesty.

Sci Fi: Steampunk Gina (who looks like she was sculpted by the same person as the bagpipe toting Bard in the fantasy category) & two others that I can't remember right now.

For the Fantasy category I voted for Griselda the Stern although I was concerned as to why her wimple seemed to have a side parting. Perhaps it's supposed to be painted as hair after all. Definately a very characterful piece. I also voted for the little axe wielding girl right down at the bottom of the poll who probably got overlooked by some. The mail shirt wasn't perfectly sculpted (and the sleeve had little visible means of support) but I could see a lot of character and potential there. I wasn't sure if the hide covering was supposed to have a hole in it on the front of the shield or if it was just an error in the sculpting so I gave it the benefit of the doubt as that would be a nice detail. I wish the strands of hair that went back to make the plait stood out more on the sides of the head as they kind of blended in.

I did not vote for Beefcake's Medusa (although she came really close) neither did I support the Egg Spoon staff sorceress (because she was such a quality piece the little viking/saxon axe girl got my tactical vote instead). I think my third vote went to the Bagpipe toting Bard although I had some concerns regarding how the arms would fit together with the body. The bagpipes could be one piece, two or even three. I know there were six figures that I wanted to vote for in the fantasy category so, unfortunately, three had to go without and simply hope they had enough mass appeal to get voted for by everyone else.

I did find it interesting spotting sculptors' work across multiple categories. I think I voted for one of the ubiquitous onesie girls although I can't remember which category she was in.

Hey, hey. That's just the public vote winners. The HF choice winners haven't been announced yet :).

Nice one Cindy.  Still want to see more from the sculptor that brought Hambo into the world.

Well you might in time. I am actually getting back into the hobby again. In fact I am painting for an online competition (Wyrd) as I write this. Well not at exactly the same time, but I am splattering paint over the keys by holding the brush while typing. So I think that counts ;)

I am at the moment working on another conversion sculpt competition as well (Maow miniatures). And working on a new sculpt from scratch. And tons of ideas bubbling.

Well done and well deserved to all the winners, not many surprises there either (voted for most of them in fact!).

Also, thanks to Balgin Stondraeg for his vote, that shieldmaiden was mine. Totally agree that it's far for perfect, and I'd love it to have another go, or at least add some putty to make certain parts stand out more, definitely redo some parts of the chainmail - didn't have time for all that at time of the competition, as the last layer was barely dry when I had to take the pics and send her in!
The shield was entirely flat by the way, that 'damage' was just a stain (pressed putty in a slightly rusty piece of metal that was exactly the right shape - couldn't for the life of me create a good circle otherwise!).
