@ possumcraft - I am not on the offensive, merely making an observation that there is a bit of nagging going on. If people actually looked behind the scenes at the current situation with Hasslfree Miniatures, they would possibly realise that there is a lot going on... and things will happen at their own pace. A move isn't straight forward and there will always be extra little things that crop up to take away any spare time you thought you had. Artemis has got further forward in the last couple of months than anyone else over the last two years so isn't 'he's on the case' good enough? And how would you feel, if you were trying your best and people kept on at you saying "is it done yet?" "is it done yet?" "is it done yet?" "is it done yet?" "is it done yet?"... etc...

On the other hand, I have got far too much 'reality' going on at the moment to attach the merest hint of importance to 'toy soldiers' so... if you really are so upset that not having your toy soldier sorted out and sat in front of you, feel free to carry on asking questions and slowing the process down... after all, I'm just a punter like you, who also has a sculpt waiting to be cast, and am not affiliated to the company in any way so you can ignore what I am saying if you want to or you can let the process take its course and wait quietly.

And I haven't bitten your heads off. If I had, I'd have swallowed them by now.

In the words of Take That... have a little patience.

One of my favourite things about the internet is that when things are utterly unimportant to me I don't have to go to forums about them.

I'm sorry if I mistook your post earlier. I took it as I read it. Perhaps it's merely different view points but, with so much going, it's going to so much easier for things to slip through the cracks. Artemis said himself that if we ask questions it may remind him of things he's missed.

There has been a lot going on at hasslefree constantly. They're a small company with a large fan base, of course there's always a lot going on. The problem from our end is that if nobody asks any questions or talks to them because there's a lot going on then nobody would ask anything ever.

I'm really curious about the HF-Choices. Artemis states that they'll post 'better pictures of those tomorrow', but I didn't see any pics to begin with.

Unless the latest picture posted on here are the Choices, and I'm a doofus for actually assuming those were the winners... :whah?:

The last pic was a pic of the primary master mould. It contained the 6 'winners' i.e. 1st and 2nd for each of the 3 categories and then a number of 'HF Choices' to fill that mould. So if you spot yours in that slightly rubbish pic above then you'll be happy when we show better pics :)

And a quick note about mould lines etc. One of the things that people don't realise is that regularly metal masters are actually sharper quality than normal production metals 'but' do have a higher likelihood of mould line issues. This tends to occur because master moulds are made of a different rubber and they always contain non-matching minis. So, for example, the bulk of the Medusa figure's bottom half would have a detrimental effect on the 2 minis either side of it as the mould struggles more to close properly. This is the main reason why clean up will be necessary on these as they are all very mixed master moulds being spun.

We 'will' be taking some masters and cleaning them up ourselves and making another Sculpting contest category in the webstore but that will take a little while and we haven't yet made the decisions on what it will contain.

@Possumcraft - 'At the moment'.

My work is important to me but I tend to be realistic about things. I know Artemis is on the case and has made lots of progress over the last couple of months... so I have no need to continually ask questions because I know he's on the case and it will be done when the schedule allows it (that doesn't just mean the HF schedule, it also means the caster's). Sometimes, there are delays which are unavoidable. As a result, I give a little more leeway to deadlines, especially on something like this competition.

Like I said, I'm just a punter so my opinion can be easily ignored. Carry on asking questions :).

Well that's an order put in to combine with the casts, hopefully my rambling message in the 'comments' box will mark out which ones mine and go some way to making the competition a little less of a financial burden, wish I could afford to have popped more in to be honest. Still at least now I can get to work on that 'gentleman's club' I wanted to do for the Infinity board that should arrive this month.  :woohoo:

As the email stated that 'If you were interested in obtaining a casting of any entries that are not winners then please also let us know and we can see if we have castings of those available', I was wondering if the following model was available for purchase:

Would love to paint it up for somebody who absolutely abhors bagpipes (can you believe it? such a lovely, delicate sound...).

Yes, I would also be potentially interested in some of the non-winners! Is there simply a list of which ended up being castable and can have extras made, or do we need to query on a case by case basis?

I reckon there will be a list once all of the possible candidates have been cast, quality assessed and ticked off as viable. Seeing as the casting is in process, I doubt if there is a definitive list just yet... but I am sure there will be one at some point (usually, the good ones end up in the HF shop anyway).

We're still working on it but as mentioned somewhere above, about 1/3rd were rejected for casting straight off. That still left about 60 to go by the casters though and then some more were rejected.

We'll sort out the list for you once we're down sorting out some better photos of the winners mould :)

A full set has been cleaned up and glued etc. Final photos will appear in tomorrow's newsletter and I'll also post them here separately.

A couple of the winners may not make the website I'm afraid. One was unfinished and so may not make the website at all (although we may sprue up the separate gun) and a second just didn't mould correctly so needs to be slightly amended before we can add it to the webstore.

The original greens, not so much, but for most of the winners we got useable castings, albeit some of them require more clean up than we'd normally allow through QC.

So we have 11 minis in the 'winners mould' , we may not have 11 in the store. We shall see :)

If that's the one I'm thinking of, it's not so much that it was unfinished as I decided that I didn't want to cut it up in the end.  I figured it wouldn't really work very well, not with the way I had posed her, and I was sufficiently happy with my work that I didn't want to rework her much.  I had already created the separate gun, though, so I threw that in as a bonus with the idea that it could be slung on her back along with (or in lieu of) the backpack.

Thanks for the kind compliments!  I have an idea, though, that the figure proved too delicate to cast, and would either have been rejected or destroyed in the attempt.  Those arms were pretty fragile, as I recall.
