In my personal view, your whole tone was dismissive. I'll leave it there.

Now you are guilty of what you accuse me of :D. I now feel dismissed  :lmao.

I'll leave it there  :lmao!

So I have to hide a from ya at Salute again? Hugging freak.

Update on the comp - Photography is almost over, I've cut together the composites for the modern category and will move on to the fantasy category later today.

We have polling software sorted and have tested it, seems to be fine. Will be an open vote, people may vote for up to 3 in each category (if we can get that to work properly which is a smal sticking point at the moment), voting should be protected by IP and cookie so multi-voting will require someone to 'really' want to mess with the contest :)

Only things left to sort out are a couple of people who we have found never sent their entry in at all, a final decision on the casting issues and then the voting/prizes etc.

(Of course if anyone is making or planning to make an order around delivery time then by all means let us know so we can include your freebies with it instead of unnecessarilly sending two parcels within a few days of each other :) In fact we might even offer a code to incenitivise doing just that now that it's been brought to my mind, will think about that)

I plan to make an order for some decals and more dollies to practice my sculpting (It's Hasslefrees fault for giving me the itch) and perhaps a mini or two. If anything is coming my way from the contest, let me know by email so I can do that, if you don't mind.

Quote
A green going into a mould makes it a master mould. Those will be spun for prizes for entrants and a number of those masters will be taken out of the pile to create a production mould for any minis we add to the store.

If I win (doubtful) I'd be estatic, but I'd be pretty happy to see my entry in the shop too. If not that even, I'm glad to have participated. Can't wait for the next one (Hopefully I'll be a lot better at sculpting by then :) )

And if there's a next one you might wanna limit it to one entry per person :P

But I really enjoyed making my 4 entrys ; ; I think I learnt a lot and feel like my technique had improved by the last one :)

I think more than one entry should be fine. If someone sculpted two really awesome sculpts then it could be hard to decide which to enter.

Could all entrants please check their spam boxes etc. to make sure they got the most recent email from us about the competition.

It was sent from pictures@hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk and has the most up to date information in it in advance of us announcing it proper. If you didn't get it let either me or Jenn know so we can update your details if they happen to be wrong or resend it if they're correct and it just died in the aether.

Ta :)

Yay. The competition is moving again. I can't wait to see all entries.

I'm fine if my sculpt doesn't get cast because it didn't win or is uncastable, or both. Ofcourse having it cast would be the most fun. But if it won't/can't be done, no hard feelings from my end.

If it doesn't get cast I of course would love to have the green back (as already stated it would be). But if for some reason Hasslefree wants to cast it (winner or not), but in doubt if it will survive the casting process intact but it's worth a shot. I will official state that: By all means try to cast it despite the risk. And if it's not to much to ask just send me back the mangled remains after if it does "explode" ;) if that's not to much work ^^

Totally missed the resuscitation of this whole thing, but great to see it up and running again!

Hadn't checked this thread since the long silence in August, and what with university busy again, had actually forgotten about it. Now that it's back, however, my heart is racing through my thoracic cavity again - not because I might win (never expected that), but simply to find out if my entry would in fact, in any way, be castable.. I took care to enter something that I though could be casted, but what do I know about that?

Just wanted to say a massive thanks to all of you who are working on making this competition work, and I'm sure that whatever you decide will be as fair as possible under these circumstances. There has been a lot of hassle (I'm sure there is the opportunity for a great pun there), but you've decided to invest even more time in this to bring it to a good end. Thanks!
Wait, that isn't exactly massive. Just slightly big.. let's see...

Thanks!

Yeah.. that's better

And please, don't forget to remind us that having the green (and any casts) send back will be a lot cheaper if you can add it to an order - because I'm sure to find something to order at the time, because you surely have been through enough trouble already and because, otherwise, I'm sure to have forget it otherwise!

I too was summoned by the latest email, so all appears to be working correctly there! I'm more than happy with the revised rules/photographs (couldn't get a completely in focus macro shot for toffee). I had hoped for metal versions of my 2 entries,  but that was always more of a vanity thing compared to actually properly sculpting something!  My thanks for finally handling what seems to have been a very tricky situation.  Rather better than some kickstarters I've seen, I might add...

Technical hitch with the polling software/site *mutter* Sorted now but we'd still like to start the polling at midnight GMT so it'll be tonight instead now.

Newsletter tomorrow will highlight the poll for all of HF's subscribers to help offset any block friend voting for those of you worried about that :)

Let the voting begin!

Here are the links to the three polls, one for Modern sculpts, another for Fantasy sculpts, and a final for Sci-fi sculpts.  Please have a look through all the entries, and choose your favourite 3 from each category. Anyone can vote and I'm sure the entrants would appreciate it :)

All polls close on Monday, October 7 at midnight. We'll remind everyone in our newsletters tomorrow and next week.

Happy voting!

I have just had a look.

Wow!

Amazing.

Having to select only three for each genre is going to be real hard.

My deepest congratulations for all participants, for the ability and imagination showed.

Again......WOW.  :jawdrop:

Very sterling entries, and soooooo difficult to pick just three  :?
Machines we are sending to the skies,
Above us all.
And leave behind those who don't know,
Of the final day.
We leave in sleep those who don't know,
(and) we leave at dawn.
We are driven by the B-machine,
Wild B-machine - that never stops.
