He loves brussel sprouts, prefers them cooked but will happily munch them raw.

OMG, his condition must be much worst than I expected!

the first thing on his plate to go is always the vegetables...green first, then yellow then orange!

At least he has a healthy OCD (like me). :D

he just loves veg/fruit/salad/nuts .. most of the things a child of his age likes he isnt fussed about.  Luke likes to recognise what is on his plate so doesnt often eat things like mince/stew/casseroles etc, he prefers slices of meat and salad!
A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

TBH I don't mind 'em myself.

He also loves raw peppers, raw mushrooms, fresh raw spinach, raw cabbage, raw beansprouts, beetroot and all salad leaves except iceberg lettuce.

Would you hire him out for lectures?  Whenever I try cooking anything old or new for my sisters (a bunch of 20-30-somethings), most of the veg gets scraped into the bin, just on the principle that it's veg.

Wait, does that include curries?

That's fair enough. I'd hate to think people might make up similar stupid stories about the Cult of the Great and Powerful Penguin. Like, for instance, it being formed 20 years ago by a bunch of goths on finding a strange glass penguin in a house they were renting for Whitby Goth Weekend.

Ok, that could make sense.  Regardless of origin, if it works for you, give'er all.

My theory when it comes to eating veggies: Eat them first whilst you are most hungry, thus making them 'taste' better.  Then eat the good stuff.

My theory when it comes to eating veggies: veggies are mere ornaments, they are not meant to be eaten.

He is fine now, still a bit of a cough and completely shattered still but getting excited over christmas!

Ah, Christmas, what a wonderful placebo! Glad to hear he's on the mend and hopefully he can enjoy his Christmas to the full with the rest of the family. Best wishes. David

I was exactly the same when I was a lad. When my mum and dad gave me money to buy sweets on my way to school, I used to go to the greengrocer's instead.

But fair play to the bloke; at least he's in charge!

Must be the only kid in the country who likes sprouts.

Glad to hear he's better.

To be honest, I think that Soo usually ends up bossing him around.

I have considered increasing the mighty army that is the Cult of Sooty. One of my friends asked if she could join, but I'm not sure that the organisation is ready for the vast expansion that adding another member would involve. Suppose she wants to be the pope or something?

It was only meant to be a retaliation to  a bad joke on a forum...but it grew legs and carried on for a couple of years until I got bored, and went off to sit on a mountain top (figuratively speaking).
