Phew! Good to hear the little chap is on the mend!

i spoke too soon   :(

the croup is gone to be replaced by a chest infection.  lovely yellow anti-biotics will hopefully sort that out.  first time in his life for anti-biotics so they should work quickly.  i am so knackered i sat with him on the sofa today snuggled up and it was me who fell asleep whilst he watched Fireman Sam, he took the mug of tea out of my hand and put it on the floor so i didnt spill it!
A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

Here's hoping he gets well quickly. Nothing worse than having a sick child you fret all the time and everyone walks as if the ground is covered in eggshells :). I fully appreciate how difficult it can be get well soon.

Oh, bless. Fingers crossed for him to get well soon.

I will beseech Sooty to watch over him. I did consider my moral compass - "What would Sooty do?" - but all it came up with was hitting someone with a hammer or squirting them with a water pistol. They usually help out, but I'm not optimistic about their medical efficacy in this particular situation.

I do take Sooty with me everywhere I go; he was my favourite toy when I was a nipper and I keep him as a lucky mascot. I'm so deadpan when I joke about worshipping him, though, that one of my friends genuinely believed that I did for a couple of years until it finally dawned on him that I was taking the mickey. His wife laughed at him for ages about that.

Or, er, I mean: "What's that, Sooty? I should squirt him with a water pistol for mocking my deeply-held religious convictions? Fuliginosus vult!"

Luke is lots better today, the anti-biotics that were needed for the chest infection that came after the croup seem to be working.  i envy how quickly kids bounce back!  he slept through the night last night for the first time in about 10 days...it was bliss!

Glad to hear it. I bet you still didn't sleep though. When mine are bad I tend to be on high alert listening to every noise and sniffle just incase

Speaking as an outsider, would that really have been necessary?  Couldn't you have just sorted it out over a fish slap dance competition?

Seriously though, sorry to hear that he was sick and glad to hear he's on the mend now.

I like penguins. I don't worship them, though. That would be a bit weird. Not like worshipping Sooty, which is a completely normal and sensible thing to do. People having been doing it for ages and ages and it's definitely not a silly idea I made up in the mid-1990s for a laugh when I'd been down the pub.

That's fair enough. I'd hate to think people might make up similar stupid stories about the Cult of the Great and Powerful Penguin. Like, for instance, it being formed 20 years ago by a bunch of goths on finding a strange glass penguin in a house they were renting for Whitby Goth Weekend.

Needs his strength built up with nutritious food.  Plenty of brussel sprouts for that lad! ;)

He loves brussel sprouts, prefers them cooked but will happily munch them raw.

He also loves raw peppers, raw mushrooms, fresh raw spinach, raw cabbage, raw beansprouts, beetroot and all salad leaves except iceberg lettuce.

the first thing on his plate to go is always the vegetables...green first, then yellow then orange!
