Luke ill
« on: December 03, 2011, 12:42:14 PM »

Luke has been ill since tuesday with a viral infection so has been up nights.  Thursday night we ended up in the out of hours doctors at 10pm as his breathing was getting worse and he was panicking drawing breath.  He has croup and is knackered ( as are Kev and I with no sleep for 3 night and still isnt well now.

Mark has been off since  tuesday before last but i have been in packing/shipping orders but this means that i have been doing admin at night so if you are expecting a response to an email then please be patient, i am not ignoring you

A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

Ditto with Luke, after my much older lad was sick earlier this year, I can imagine the stress little Luke has put you and Kev under.

Always stressful when the liitle'uns are unwell (long, long time since my daughters were that age but we now have a five-year-old grandaughter to worry over) so I hope he recovers quickly and fully.

Sorry to hear that Sally.

I hope that little Luke is better soon. It's horrible when the kids are really ill. You're tired as it is, but then add the worry.

Thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery.

Simon.

Sorry to hear that. Hope Luke gets well soon. And when he recovers, so will you, too.
Spending the Christmas Eve with an ill child in the hospital is by no means recommendable. Unless you have to. Been there, done that.

Thanks guys,

he is much better today, his temperature is under control and he slept longer than 20 minutes between panic attacks last night ( which meant i got about 3 hours sleep as well which was fab!).  it seems to have turned into a chesty-type cough now and a really snotty nose.  the 'barking' noise seems to have almost gone which means the virus is hopefully under control

Glad to hear Sally.

Just remember strong kids get ill when they are young. It builds up their resistances...

Kids get unsuspectingly ill and seem like they'll need to be taken to hospital (sometimes they have to).
Then, they unsuspectingly get well, and in a couple days are laughing, playing, and generally making a mess, as if nothing had happened.
Doctors won't get a chance to even understand what has been going on.

Or so I've seen happen many times to other families (I have no kids). Of course, parents can't help but get scared to death.
I suppose that's the cycle of life. Or something.

And glad the little guy is better.
