The dangers of horse riding were made abundantely clear to me. My wife was trampled by a horse which was spooked by a stupid woman who suddenly appeared outside the indoor school with a horse and a water hose in hand. Water spraying all over the place and this particular horse had attadked the one she was on. The outcome being the horse threw her in a panic. She went over its head and in slow motion it went right over her standing on her arm and her chest in the process. I thought I had lost her but thankfully the body protector I had bought her worked. Her arm is black and blue though. No brakes thank god! But the woman was told off by several staff at the yard as it is against school rules to (a) approach the school while in use without prior consent, (b) use the hose which is specifically to water the indoor arena for any other purpose, (c) bring a horse known for spooking and attacking other horses near the indoor school. As it is she has been given until August to move. I think it is time to rethink one of our mutual interests.

She was very lucky, she does need to get back on as soon as she is able to though. I hope she feels better soon.

Meg was riding the other day in a group in a schooling arena at the equestrian centre and one girl panicked and started screaming which spooked her pony and then set off the 4 other ponies and 2 mares also being ridden ... all of the children came off their ponies/mares like dominos tumbling as their ponies spooked as well.  The instructor almost had a heart attack but luckily nobody was seriously hurt as the dirt in the arena was really soft and they were only little ponies who took themselves off to the gate to wait for the instructor once they had lost their riders.  Meg has pulled a muscle in her back as she tried to stay on the saddle but ended up falling off which shook her a bit so i got some money out of my savings and went and bought her body armour 'just in case'.  She is also under instructions not to go onto a 'pony day' with this other child ever again!

Announcements and News / Re: 2012 SCULPTING COMPETITION
« on: June 10, 2012, 08:14:37 PM »
Can't see it anywhere but can we enter more than one category or the same category more than once? Just checking before i place my order

i hadnt thought about that, but in past competitions people have entered in more than one designation and more than one figure so i guess it is fine!

Announcements and News / 2012 SCULPTING COMPETITION
« on: June 10, 2012, 04:37:43 PM »

It runs from 1st July 2012 to 1st September 2012

There are 3 designated categories to enter:

1: Fantasy
2: Modern/Contemporary
3: Sci-Fi

1: You must use the female armature HFL503 as a basis for your sculpt. Points will be awarded for how you manipulate the armature, change the pose, convert it, control of putty as well as tool work and attention to detail. The final piece must be recognisable as being derived from HFL503

2: The Final piece must be able to be castable in metal by us. This means you will need to use epoxy putties like Greenstuff or Milliput plus you can add other items like guns or parts of other figures. Fimo is not advised as it can crumble under the pressure exerted on it when a mould is being vulcanised.

3: You must agree that the Final Piece that you submit will be sent to HF for production and you will relinquish all rights to reproduce that piece for personal use or for profit.

The winner of each category will get 50 worth of HF vouchers PLUS a resin copy of their winning entry

The runner-up in each category will get 25 worth of HF vouchers PLUS a resin copy of their winning entry

Each entrant who submits a finished piece will receive a metal casting of their figure plus metal castings of each of the winner and runner-up in each category.

Firstly you need to get hold of HFL503. Under UK Gaming Laws we cannot charge you for this.

It is obviously best for us if you can pay for it, however you can also add it free of charge to your normal webstore order by entering the code ARMATURE at checkout. If you choose to purchase the armature for the competition we will add FREE to your order some greenstuff to help you along, just make sure we know by telling us in the 'comments' box at checkout that it is for the competition.

If you just want the armature then email us with your shipping address and we will send it out to you. If you choose this option then please try to enter the competition, we are a small company who cant afford to give away postage costs and armatures to people who just want something for free and who have no intention of entering the competition. I am all for frugality but if that is your intention then that is just tight!

Keep an eye on the Facebook page or here for further information that you might need including image sizes and sending in your entries.

Good luck !

Two further thoughts. I've kept an eye out for the promised new dragon and tattoo decals, but they don't seem to have appeared in the webshop since Salute; I'm hoping perhaps they're among the "non mini items" which didn't make the cut to be listed in the Newsletter, and not that you've run into production problems. Or maybe I've been looking in the wrong places...

i knew that i had forgotten something..............

will rectify it tonight

sorry :(

I think we have ironed out most of the issues we had with getting the newsletter sent out.  As far as content goes I am still playing with 'what is too much and what is too little'.  I would appreciate any feedback if you have the time.

The latest ones are:

March 2012:
April 2012:
May 2012:
June 2012:

thanks lots

Sally :)

You know how I was going to say "not too big. Whatever's the right size for her body and will also fit inside the armoured version"?

Well those look a little bit too big and they don't look like they'll fit inside the armoured version.

kev says they will squeeze in and she doesnt look as if she would be short of willing volunteers to help her get her armour on!

What's this chaos mutation? Variation between sculpts?

artistic licence and a sculptor that loves boobs.

It's not as if that hasn't happened before when the same sculptor does various versions of the same character. They still do seem a bit hetfy 'though.

i think the correct adjective is 'fun'!

Information / Re: Addresses
« on: May 14, 2012, 08:46:26 AM »
We used to with the old website copy the customers address into our label software from the Paypal or Sagepay confirmations however one of the benefits of the new website is the account feature which lets you put in your address as it needs to be rather than running the gauntlet of Paypals processing software.

Somehow I suspect the Walkers could not be passed off as Norman cavalry.

you could paint it white with a red cross on...maybe it will blend in.........

Man, my childhood and my adolescence are having a *heated* discussion over this sculpt... but both agree that I need to own this mini. Is it completely finished?

She is finished, thanks to Balgy for getting this on here nice and quick for me, i was just doing all of the updates (had to get the Walker and Female Barbarian online first)

She has gone to Grey Matter figures for casting so Kev can have a few copies of her just in case she gets trashed in the moulding process ( it happens sometimes...Axenarf is a prime example).  As soon as i know she has cast successfully i can get her for production moulding

i havent seen anything, did you send it to the office address or the website address?

answering my mobile phone to my 7yr old daughter who was asking me what was for dinner as she was on her way home with her nanny, my 3yr old was in the car also shouting he wanted sausages.   At the time i was in an ambulance on the way to hospital with a suspected heart attack, the paramedics had a drip up and i was covered in wires.  I had to be cheerful and tell her i loved her and would see her in a few hours but all of the time i didnt know if i would ever see her or my son again.

that was hard and it still makes me cry now, in fact i might just go upstairs now and give them a hug whilst they are asleep.
