This is to announce that Mark has left his  employment with Hasslefree to take up a full-time position elsewhere.

We thank him for the time he spent with us and wish him all the best in his future career.

Apart from the FOD and Facebook, what forums do you mostly go to and why?

UPDATE:  Sub masters are done, Tim is putting on the production moulds today to cure over the weekend and then Mark (Grey Matter)  is going to start running them on monday.

Resin colour is now sorted out.  It is a slightly darker shade than the recent releases but still very nice and a good mid-tone to start with for painting

Any news on this one yet?

Nudge  8:::.

yes, she is being cast.  we had a problem with the resin colour as the suppliers sent Grey Matter a new type of blue pigment and our stuff turned out looking like cheap plastcs.  i will speak to grey matter again today and see how many of them are already cast and will update later

very nice lines.  nice choice of pose.  why did you decide this stance and what reference material did you use?

to get a better overview of the shape you could try doing a shot from a distance

Will announcements etc (basically all the stuff going into these newsletters) still appear on the fod?

Yes.  We will still post on FB and here with usual updates, pictures etc.  Everything will carry on as normal, we just want to try and reach a wider audience of people who have shopped with us or are interestd in what we do but dont check things like the FOD or FB on a regular basis.  One example would be the childrens christmas painting compeititon...i had lots of emails frpom people saying they would have loved to have entered it with their children but had missed the announcements as they only usually check back when they know there are specific new releases they are interested in.

done (but got a strange 'warning' pop-up obscured by the Hasslefree heading).

should be all sorted now, i had asked for some basket changes last night and it affected the 'subscribe to' landing page.

BTW:  The basket changes were to amend an annoying feature.  For example if you wanted to add something from the Adventurers and scrolled down  to the bottom of the page to add code HFA071 it would autoamtically refresh following the addition and tap you back to the top.  Now it doesnt, it leaves you in the page position you were in. much better!

The new website is an ongoing development process with various features being phased in as we can afford them on both the customer-viewable front area of the website and also the back-end control centre on the server.

Following research in the period before the new website was launched and customer suggestions/feedback since the launch, we have added a 'subscribe' box on the front page just above the Facebook information section.  This allows you to choose to join an email list where we send you details of discounts and promotions, new releases and any other  updates.  This was a feature present on the old website where you could tick a box to opt-in to newsletters and updates but not something we had the infrastructure to use.  Existing registered customers will not need to register again but it gives those who have not yet shopped with us the opportunity to be informed of updates, especially if they have seen a WIP that caught their eye and what to know when it is released.

We dont 'do' spam, you wont receive 20 gazillion emails a day telling you what Kev had for his breakfast or how clever Luke is .  The plan is to send 2 emails each month, approximately every 2 to 3 weeks.  One will detail any new releases for that month or releases due within the week, the other will update in other areas including links to finished greens, workbench topics, tutorials, competitions and promotions. Each email has the opportunity to unsubscribe.

This is completely new territory for us and for the first few months it is going to be a learning process so we would appreciate any feedback either positive or negative to enable us to make sure we get it right.

Thanks lots for your support, this is a very exciting time for HF and sometimes a bit scary!

Sally :)

Superb, thank you so much  :notworthy:  :notworthy:

Now how much bonus credit do I have left? Better start looking for the little piece of paper :D

Very grateful for these, but you will do the crossbowmen as well, right? And maybe even hit out when?

the crossbows are in the mould going on friday, i couldnt fit them all and still keep them as a pack

Announcements and News / NEW DWARVES for FEB/MARCH 2012
« on: February 27, 2012, 10:31:15 PM »

Each pack contains 4 different bodies and a sprue of 4 different shields.  Pack HFD023 contains 4 hand weapons and pack HFD024 contains 4 spears.  Both packs are inter-changeable so the spear arms will fit the bodies from the hand weapons packs and vice versa.

Very reasonable priced at 10.83 plus VAT per pack which comes in to 13 per pack once the VAT is added on.  That means 3.25 per dwarf. Yes you are all very lucky that I am so wonderful bringing you Kevs gorgeous dwarves at such excellent prices, dont worry I wont let you forget!

We have also had a restock of HFD017 which is the other dwarf multi-pack and we have brought that price down to match the two new packs.

It must be a nightmare trying to decide what items to put in each mould.

it is a juggle.  we have to mix production have more than one code in each mould as we couldnt afford to do one mould per code.  i think if we had had investment at the start of HF instead of going it all on our own i would have gone for single code moulds as it would have made restocks easier

Nice stuff here but...
How's the walker coming along? :)

he is doing fine.  Kev finally got the sub masters back from the resin caster on friday so once he has finished the current McVey brief he will get it assembled and back downstairs for casting
