Seen on Facebook as a WIP green back in June 2011. Still awaiting his arrival.

I think he's gone to get those mattocks. On the other side of the (Middle) earth. On foot.

It doesn't help, you know.

I've been here before with Grymn flamers.

I waited 18 months and was very happy with the result :).

...but it still took 18mths ;)

Thank you Sally!  :applause:

Inso, interestingly enough it's been sixteen months since the green went up on Facebook - and Kev the Great must have been working on it before that, so I figure we're pretty much at that eighteen month mark of yours already. Near enough to have it delivered now anyhow. ;)

16 months?
18 months?

Beginners I say... Pure beginners

If you check my signature you'll see that 4 years ago yesterday Sally finally admitted I was way ahead in begging for a certain something I'm banned for mentioning in here but it rhymes with NagTrike.

:p ;)

Oh dear.

Look, up in the sky, is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a gravity defying automobile?

Ah, no it's not, it's actually just a bird. :wry:

I thought they meant Hag strike... you know, when they picket outside the gingerbread cottages.

So... it's January 2014. Another fourteen months since I asked after this guy. Still waiting. I know Kev has the attention span of a gnat and juggles a thousand projects at once, but come on now. It must be time now. Please?

Looks a lot like this guy, right? (the one on top)

Yes, he looks a lot like that guy, because he has been adapted from the "Norman" dwarves to fit in with that range, but he is NOT actually, that guy! For one thing - and it's a bit of a give away - the fellow I am waiting for is wielding a two handed axe in both hands (see picture of WIP at top of thread), where as the present Norman dwarves all have hand weapons or spears held single handed, and all have shields.

: altfritz January 11, 2014, 04:16:12 AM
Yeh, where are the two handed axe and mattock guys? (Dain's Folk...)
: Re: Where has this fellow got to?
: Scutatus January 11, 2014, 04:24:43 AM
Quite so. Exactly. That is the very question I myself keep asking (you probably knew that already altfritz, hence your question). ;)  :P

And they are indeed being used as Dain's folk  - the Host of Erebor itself! :) Assuming those mattocks arrive. (prod prod prod) :whip:

...and where are the boar riders? :seeya:
: Re: Where has this fellow got to?

...and where are the boar riders? :seeya:

Although I am quite happy to NOT see any dwarven boar riders (either at Hasslefree or on the big screen), because it is not the Tolkienesque/psuedo-historical look I am going for,  I do remember that Kev expressed an interest in doing them.  So, a valid question I suppose. :)

As I mentioned elswhere...

No progress as of yet, next week we are due a meeting about organising Kev's schedule though so we shall update then on what's on the list up to and including Salute :)

(And something like Boar Riders can be brought back up as something for Kev to put on his 'digital sculpting idea board' as they would be a better project for hard plasic than metal these days)
