I pondered the optional collar thing. It's probably the most logical way to go but requires a certain amount of work on my part making sure all the hounds have necks the same size that the collar will fit over... I'll give it a try once I've got the heads cut off these boys.

Salute is a non-GW british version of games day when all the other manufacturers turn up at London to sell their wares and dozens of clubs put on games for people to take part in. More info on the South London Warlords site: www.salute.co.uk (Click 'Salute')

Saddle? Maybe for one of the non-spiky ones!

Is there just me and Vermis that like the 'barbed' spines? Would you all prefer them 'regular' looking?

Thanks for the info on Salute! I'm slightly less ignorant now.

Also, I love the spines barbed the way they are, I definitely vote against straight and spikey.

Collars.  Like them, but maybe perhaps (if your doing several) do some with, some without...

Barbed Spikes.  no.  Its not just you and Vermis.  i also like them, and as one of the nay-sayers already said, its easy enough for them to be ground down to barb-less...

Hope you get them all done and ready in time.  I am certainly looking forward to these (especially now you said that leter you were planning normal/non-demonic hounds for Barbarian/Security use...)  This would seem to have all the bases covered ('scuse the pun).

Funnily enough, I had a Hellhound armature posed in exactly the right position for that hydrant idea earlier on this afternoon. Thought it would be better off waiting until I got the first five done though. Can't see a huge commerical demand for pissing Hellhounds! (I was musing on it for my planned Secret Project, which currently involves two adult hellhounds and some little ones, but they might be changed for Bulldog sized ones...)

If you go alt heads, perhaps the collars could be integral with some heads, and not others. Like the Hürn Hunting Hound* could have a hi-tech 'radio-collar'. The not/Khornhound could have an overly spiky stylised collar, etc...

Or just split-ring optional collars, that could be adjusted for neck size - with a buckle or tag piece to cover the split.

*Not to harp on the idea or anything...

Andy mate, don't give us so many options that it holds you up!

If people want em without spikes point them in the direction of clippers, isle 16.... fur on the shoulders sir, collars sir...oh suits you sir...? of course sir, procreate isle 3 sir ooh ooh!  ;)

(p.s. you sell both products!!).

Urinating on a fire hydrant.... flaming wee would be a good comedy twist!

Mark.

(Which is only slightly sillier than acid for blood which has so far been good for 6 films and counting)...

Hürn Hunting Hound

I once had the idea that Hürn, being from a predominately aquatic planet, might have long-legged hunting salamanders (I like salamanders).  Or temnospondyl-things, or something.

Anyway.

Something I forgot to mention.  Never cross the streams...

Vyperzoom has the 6 films, but I never said they were 6 good films, just the concept was good for them...

Besides, did anyone else think it was Dedication was what you need?

Exactly, 3 and resurrection were steaming bowls of...welll hell hound wee! I count both AvP's in there as I like the  cross over material personally, (both were poor in many ways and neither were a patch on Dark Horse Comics Aliens vs predator seriesesssesesessssssss! ;)) Alien and Aliens were the best of the Alien fims.

And yup never cross the streams!!

That way you could paint them metal to give the hounds a more SF feel (not that I'd want to do that personally, I like them as fantasy monsters, but you never know...)

I'm loving these new hell hounds Andy.  I'll be getting a pack of them at Salute this year so can't wait to see them in the flesh.
Not sure what I'll use them for but got to have them in the collection...

on the spines question of straight n` spikey or barbed, after long thinking  I too want barbed, as these will make kick ass hell or Khornate hounds.

Keep up the good work Andy.

On the subject of the lamp post peeing dog, how about the kind of hellhound that walks his bum across your carpet with his back legs up in the air :lmao:

I thinkl there are far more useless but brilliant poses in terms of wargaming than there are good useful ones. Weeing, humping, sniffing, chewing a ball/skull, play dead, cowering fetching the stick are all great but no-one would buy them in quantity! Sadly, I seem to be stuck with finding a realistic running pose (Boy those current GW ones are weird. They look...happy...?! Tails up in the air, etc...)

I've taken a little break away from the Hounds for the last two days whilst I'vee wrestled with the concept of PHP shops. I chopped the heads off the two I've got and discovered that my dreams of having six entirely interchangeable heads to suit all hellhounds are just that - Bat-head stands no chance of a good fit with Scoobthulu-Head's neck, if he doesn't also have a collar. So I'm going to have to make five hellhounds, then convert each and every head four more times to fit, if they don't all have collars. If they do all have collars, then I can make the heads interchangeable almost easily. Having learned this, I decided to take a break for a day or two and rebuild my love for them. (And prevent myself from sculpting a Dark lord wielding a rolled-up newspaper shouting 'Who did that? Who did that on the floor? Bad hell hound! Bad! to go with the cowering one tht started out supposed to be a running one...couldn't get the legs right due to the short ones at the back...)
