Find a FoDDer!
« on: November 27, 2007, 09:58:19 PM »
Almost every day when I am packing orders, I notice some post codes that are similar and I think 'I wonder if these two know each other?'

I can just imagine two people who are great friends on the Forum passing each other in the local games store each week without knowing.

So, please use this thread to find out if you have any FoDDers living near you, going to the same games store or even drinking in the same pub on a saturday night.

I'll start..........

My post code is DE55 in Alfreton (Derbyshire) but it used to be L23 in Liverpool.  The nearest game store I know of is Wargames Emporium in Mansfield.

My postcode is CH61 (used to be L61), I'm where the feeeeeerry cross tha Merseeeeeeey goes to, Wirral. I frequent Gamecraft in Liverpool but most of my RPG related action occurs in Sheffield and I'm there monthly to fortnightly. In Sheff I can be found at Patriot Games or the Wargames Emporium. This, on average number of visits per month, makes my local pub The Moon in Sheffield, behind the Tesco on Infirmary Road.

I'm in the Napa Valley.   I'll make sure you get the local experience, meet some vintner friends, that sort of thing.  Miniature gaming?  Not much here.

Been in the Tropics for 10 years now, but will do a 'before' and 'after' in case anyone is close to my old place when I go back for a visit.....

Before

Small place called Tiptree in Essex, near Colchester and Chelmsford..... postcode CO5.
Parents and sisters still live in the area so I pop back every once in a while.

Didn't really visit any games stores there except the occasional trip to the Colchester GW and Lingards Games and Puzzles (more a puzzle and boardgame shop). Mostly played at the group's houses, drinking their beer, sleeping on their floor, annoying their parents etc etc.

Now

A bloody hot and humid place where the locals completely refuse to follow any form of rules when driving or riding their scooters....... Malaysia. Just outside of Kuala Lumpur, near Petaling Jaya....... postcode 47000.

Plenty of Game Shops and Cafes here now. Took a while to emerge, but definitely a growing hobby. Main places for gaming: Wolfs Game Shop, Mage Cafe, Games Circle, The Outpost, and Boardgamecafe. All withing 30 mins drive.

Visitors are more than welcome to gizza buzz if they come here for Holiday.

BN14 - Worthing.

Matt Lord lives a couple of miles down the coast from me (although we still haven't met in person). Closest games store is KC's in Worthing, or GW Brighton.

I am in Basingstoke, Hampshire (RG21).

But this may changes for 1 month in every year to Guangzhou in China around Chinese New Years.

I live just to the north of Sheffield, S36, and work just to the south-east, S25.: Dinnington.  I keep wondering if it would be easier for Sabbat Wolf if I offered to pick up my HF orders :)  Probably not.

I can sometimes be found in Wargames Emporium in Sheffield, and I keep meaning to visit the one in Mansfield, and occasional in GW Meadowhell.  I also pop by Patriot Games when I'm in the centre of Sheffield, but mostly for my RPG suppliment fixes :)

I don't go to the pub much any more as it uses up valuable painting time! :D

My postcode is TR13 8LX the Helston Falmouth Truro area, and at a rough guess i'd say Inso and Mrs Inso (can't remember your FOD name! Sorry!) are around here somewhere, and Draconis lives a couple of miles away in Porthleven.

Bit of a FOD hotspot down this way  :D

Give me a couple days warning before you do (if you ever get round to it), it might be possible to you, Cypher226 and I to meet up somewhere.

Its not too bad really, these days so many towns are clones of each other that you can hardly tell the difference unless you are driving around a roundabout!  ;)

Still its good for rail links to Winchester and London, it used to be good for Reading but since the Friar Street Book shop shut and Alive Comics never seems to be open, there is very little there I cant get here.
