People who are pissed off at the world for no good reason.

(And no, that is not referring to anyone on this thread.)

The whole "angry youth/mad as hell/I'm POed at 'da man'" routine is so dang old already.  The whole crotch grabbing/finger waving/act as if you've got anger issues drives me crazy.

What is to be so mad at?  That people don't want to be around you?

PEOPLE DON'T WANT YOU AROUND SINCE YOU'RE ALWAYS MAD ABOUT SOMETHING!!!!!!

You all know what I'm talking about.  Those over-the-top types who scream from the highest heights about all that is "unjust" in the world when it really is something completely trivial.

Not really a thing that piddles me off, but more of a WTF?

Just saw an advert for Oxford writing pads, and their main selling point is that you can write on both sides of the paper...

In the war-torn darkness of the future, there is only Grymn.

Deep Space Nine: Officially not as good as Stargate.

If you field an overwhelming force against a paltry number of defenders, whatever you do, make sure the defenders are not English!

Spending several hours last night and a couple this morning trying to remove a trojan and fake virus detection software from my home PC. Beware 'Proof Defender 2009', the b'stard locked my real virus protection software and kept causing crashes of internet browsers so I couldn't look up a solution.

It installed itself via a very realistic, but fake Windows Firewall trojan detection window.

Arghhh!  :tantrum:

Do you mean the "blind with science" ones, especially those for cosmetics? Breakfast cereals have started doing the same.

I'm sure wholegrain is really good for you, but unless you explain why, it's pointless information. Might as well say it could help repair the ozone layer as well.

What about car adverts that are almost music videos, and tell you nothing about the car?

Well I was just referring to the fact that the Oxford writing pad made it blatantly obvious that you could use both sides of the paper. Wasn't this already common knowledge?. Maybe I'm just the only one who's always used both sides of my writing surfaces to conserve paper?

But you speak truth as well.

I think there might be a whole generation of people who are used to printing work on paper, and hence only using one side of the paper - and thinking that is normal. I grew up printing on both sides of the paper (with a printer you had to manually load sheets into one at a time, like a typewriter - very similar method, too!) and writing on both sides.

Back in the glory days when "people knew how to deal with witchcraft" as a picture posted on another thread describes them, people would write on both sides, and write several times on the same side - writing upside-down and rotated through 90 degrees, too!

When I write in an Oxford book or similar, though, I actually only write on one side (the right of the pad) and save the other side for edits, notes, replacements etc. etc. So, I guess I do use both sides, just not as they might think . . .

Like the one where Flora tries to get Carol Vorderman to scientifically explain how Proactive is good for you by writing, in large letters with a thick marker, 'lowers cholesterol' or somesuch? :D

Nestle ads that rabbit on about how their wholegrain cereals are great for your kids, but neglect to mention all the sugar and skyhigh levels of salt in 'em.

Yeah, I saw that and thought "but come on, we learned this at school years ago. What wally only writes on one side? Apparently loads of wallies but it still doesn't make sense.

rofl, yeah. also have you notice you can't buy any kind of cosmetic cream now? they all have to be a creme (with the accents) or there is a vowel missing of the end, like 'activ'. honestly illiteracy is bad enough and thats the only reading some kids do

I don't care how many yoghurt adverts you show me for Actimel. Biffidus still won't sound like a genuine latin word (especialy when you follow it with regularis of activum).

People who keep going back to a point after being warned not to go there; and then successfully get someone else's thread locked because of their stubborness when told to "drop it."

I'm done with it Kev.  I just figured since I opened the thread; and didn't get a chance to say anything with its closure; I needed to get it off my chest and now time to move on.
