My Scooter.  This morning on my way to work, my scooter crapped out.  4 years of almost total reliability and it decides it doesn't want to play anymore.  It runs but lacks power, won't do more than 30km/hr if that.  Guess I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Why do people think it's ok to openly criticise your home when they come to view it as a potential buyer? :(
My wife and I have been to view a few properties, but we make mental notes and discuss it after the viewing, not infront of the current owner and in a, frankly, rude manner. :(

Dorks, just trying to get the price down I guess but if it were me it would just make me stubbornly stick to a higher price.

Still haven't got my scooter fixed yet.  I've eliminated the fuel pump and filter as the problem.  Gas isn't old as I ride 32km every day and fill the tank every two weeks.  I have not opened up the carb yet, it could be clogged/dirty, and I have not checked the clutch shoes or variator yet.  I do know the belt is about done, and have a new one handy.

Another thing that gets me:  exchange rate between GBP and CAD.  12 = $22.18, as I type this.  I wanted to buy a couple shiny toys but I think I'll have to wait, or sell some stuff.  Got a couple of things to go to ebay, not miniature related though.

Why has Deviantart, a website that used be a great site for emerging artists, become a dumping ground for My Little Pony tripe?  Hope I don't offend anybody, but it annoys me greatly.

Have you tried kicking it?.....  That usually gets the exchange rate a bit better.

Haven't checked that yet either.  Don't think it is, unless the muffler is coming apart inside.  My scooter is 2009 Honda 4 stroke, which means oil isn't mixed with the gas, among other differences.  That said the pipe is small, carbon could cause restrictions.

Yesterday I broke the HD of my laptop when I smashed it closed in anger.

Tip of advice: don't do things in anger. Try to calm down. It'll save you money and troubles.

On the plus side, since I don't have a computer to waste my time with, I've been cleaning the mould lines of some minis that I've had for... ever. I may even paint again if I can't repair the damned thing!

Umm how are you posting this?
But that really sucks. Just had to replace our computer as I unplugged it to clean the dust off. Didn't turn back on after that.

I'm posting at work.

(I can browse the web with my phone or my tablet, but that still sucks compared to having a proper computer).

Put the rest of the parts I was waiting for into the scooter today.  Got it together enough to start the engine.  Knackered.  Noise I thought was a really worn belt is the engine.  That would explain the metal flakes I found.  New engine time.  Or serious repairs to this one.  Depends on what is less expensive.  There is also the same model of scooter for sale in the news paper, two years older, but everything is the same.  So it may be an option too.

Bugger.

Just had a look online.  Crankshaft assembly, which I think is the issue looks to be rather inexpensive.  I guess I won't know exactly what is broken until I take the engine totally apart.  Ugh, big job on a tiny scooter.

My job.  I get the feeling I won't be there much longer.  For some reason the head of the company seems to think I stand around all day and watch youtube.  Isn't it nice when people start rumors?

Well, that's the right spirit!
I have to remember this phrase... guess it might come in handy in the future when it comes to convincing the wife.

Haven't been online much lately or been able to paint or game. I had a fall back in October and hit my head and wrist on a concrete bar. I ended up in hospital, had to have stitches and my wrist needed reset. I'd tried to stop myself hitting the ground after slipping on some leaves basically spent a month with my arm in a full cast. The break was called a Smyth's fracture. The head injury left me with constant wringing and I couldn't eat solids for two weeks I'm only now beginning to enjoy food but it still hurts like heck. The fracture clinic reckons I'll be a year to 18 months before we'll find out if I fully recover. As it is I have limited mobility in the wrist, eating hurts, I've constant ringing in my head and my lead mountain ain't painting itself.

REALLY sorry to hear that. I hope you'll recover fully well before the doctor's estimate. And please stop by here, even if you're not painting & gaming at the moment.
