:tantrum:  Just had some stupid kid run up on my porch, pound on the door then run away.  It's eleven  :swear: o clock at night.  Got a good idea who it was too.  It's pretty obvious when there is only one child of the age to be a retard like that in the entire neighbourhood.  Especially when she is a flailing underage drunken crack head who gets the cops called on her on a monthly basis.

ps we were still awake at the time.

Irritated and slightly bemused at getting my knuckles rapped at another forum, for linking to 'naughty stuff' (Lee Evans on youtube, of all things).  Fair cop, I suppose, since it turned out to be in breach of one or another forum rules; but I wonder if I'd get the same for saying "reminds me of an instance of Lee Evans' standup act that can be easily viewed by absolutely anyone by typing three keywords into the search bar of a popular video upload site!"

How many infraction points do I need before I can get a set of special edition Coke glasses?

Continuing cold weather....resin & rubber times are still way slower than they should be, which leads to delays and longer lead-ins. Add on top my first actual day off (yesterday) since Boxing day and the chance to rest up bad back/leg/sciatica without the threat of DIY or having to go into the workshop...and then poorly better half + more snow meant having to fetch kids from friends' houses where other parents daren't drive, boiler packing up, burst pipe and other randomness all contributing to my "day off" not starting 'till 5pm   :?
Too many ideas....way too little time.

Arthritis continuing to be a pain (no pun intended). My specialist is seeing me ahead of schedule, later the week. I confess I'm worried as to where this is going and what treatment options there are.   :(

Usually the second thing* I think of when someone mentions Arthritis is how it often gets worse when it's cold and damp outside, but this frighteningly sounds more like 'it's worse no matter what the weather's like'. Hope your doc knows how to help you deal with the pain.

*the first thing is something along the lines of that must hurt like hyperventillating swearfilter has a nervous breakdown

I'm not sure if that's real or not. Certainly my rheumatoid arthritis never seems to be weather-dependant. I wonder if people who have a twinge when it's cold assume it's arthritis. I dunno.

I'm in hospital on Friday, so I'm hoping there's somthing they can do for me. I've had four years on a wonder drug but it seems to be losing control now (but still better than the 18 months of chemotherapy which was just useless!!).

Given all the serious things on this list, this might sound a bit trivial but it irks me so I thought I'd share.

What is pissing me off right now is seeing the new wonderful Kev dwarfs and knowing that at this point in my life and career I probably could buy shelffuls of them.

And then realising that I already have over 1000 unpainted figures and it's been about a decade since I actually had time or opponents to push figures around a board.

I think I just realised I have grown up, and have responsibilities and I probably won't have the opportunity to play with toy soldiers again...

It is really.  Growing up sucks.  For me, today was 30 in 30 day.  As of March 1st, 2012 it is officially 30 days until I turn 30.  But, no plans to grow up, except that there never really is a plan you just come to Brandlin's realisation one day.

Yes you do. Have a short break then you'll regain the bug. I found myself become more immature over the last 5 years. Don't give it up I really like seeing the comments and other stuff you put up here.

I've got several years on both of you, and while I do frequently feel ancient beyond belief (the combination of rheumatoid arthritis and a much younger girlfriend will do that!), I long ago realised that doing what you want to be doing is vital. We spend most of our waking hours working, use the rest for whatever you have enthusiasm for, regardless of age. I've seen too many people drift out of hobbies and before long they become work/eat/tv/sleep routine people. We have a hobby that is creative, imaginative and metally stimulating. We're the lucky ones.

30, been and gone last year. Still play with little toys. No mid life crisis for me... or is this my mid-life crisis?

Every time I get within about 5 yds of someone under 10 yrs old I get sick. I like kids, I genuinely do, but this is beginning to extract the urine! Bleurgh!
