Ah! I waited 2 weeks for a box from USA in our custom - and I paid extra 16,5 euro to have it.

That is not cool.

No, not at all. I bought an object from a private man (a FOD user ) and I had to pay a good extra for it. There's a word I would use for this but it isn't polite and I cannot use it here.

I was reminded of one earlier: Roll-aboards.

Some of the ones that people are trying to stuff into the overhead bins of aircraft are bigger than the suitcase I've stuck in the hold. Not to mention that if they need a bag that big, they're not going wherever for a couple of days, so how did they get all their toiletries through security?

And another one for flying, boarding.

If you really want to get the flight out quickly, organise the boarding to put people on at the back and sides first, not start with the front so that everyone else has to queue whilst some muppet takes five minutes to stow their oversized and overweight carry on, sit down and let one person past, then get up again, get a book out, sit down, get up for a pen, sit down...

I was thinking more along the lines of cutting her tongue out.

Been there mate, I would get it changed into her name...mine was a lot worse 700 a month...lol
 that's a hell of a lot of money! I probably wouldn't just get it changed to the partners name, I'd probably seriously consider changing the partner.

Anyone need a fantastic Graphic Designer?

can you pay your rent and food bills in metal?
A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

...being stuck out in Africa...miles away from family, friends and hobby stuff...

...there is only so much edge a safari or two can take off :(

On the bright side...the shift pattern removes any chance of sleep, it changes every so often just to mix things up...the aircraft have had a horrendous run of unserviceability and once we fix them they break again in a completely random manner...the monsoon has started...there are plagues of lots of different insects (small beetles at the moment)...we are working with the army (enough said) and did I mention, I have been here a month and still have two weeks to go...

...at least I'll be home for salute :)

Relying on friends doing you a favour with what's usually their day job.  Especially when they never reply to emails and you're too much of a doormat to be assertive.  I've had almost four weeks, twiddling my thumbs, waiting on stuff I cant do myself, that could've been resolved in less than four nights.

I realise some people on here will find this ironic.

Indeed. His crowning achievment is The Office.

Aka everything that Drop The Dead Donkey did for workplace comedy a decade earlier, but nowhere near as funny.

When you ask someone to give you a hand with something at work, (at work mind you with other staff members present, maybe even a customer or two) and they don't even look at you, just say "Go F#$k yourself".  I really hope this guy gets fired soon.  He wasn't even doing ANYTHING. :tantrum:  Same guy was cleaning up some brambles and debris a while ago, smacked himself in the face with a stick (not bramble), got mad, turned and punched in the side panel on the company truck he was loading the stuff into.  The dent was almost 2 feet wide!  At least he got ripped up one side and down the other for that.

BLOODY RAIN !  :tantrum:
Got halfway through painting the fence panels on sunday and it has done nothing but rain since  :hmmm
I decided to get on with making the horse name plates I am doing only for my printer to run out of ink so I can't do the lettering templates - the nearest place to get replacements is 7 more expensive than everywhere else so they will have to wait as I am going to Norwich on Friday  :hmmm
Guess that just leaves painting minis an drinking tea !

My Gran passed away last night  :(
More sad than pissed off - in a way a happy release - she was 90 and had dementia and wasn't the woman I remember when I was young.
RIP Gran.

Sorry to hear that dragon, although I know how you feel. Lost my Nan to alzhiemer's a few years back before she succumed to old age. Don't think my mum is over it yet. Last week we burried my great Aunt, her sister, who also had alzheimers.

Very sad, but a blessed release in some ways.

All the best and our thoughts are with you.

Feel sorry for my Dad, when my Grandpa died in 2000 he was away in Canada and this time he is in Scotland .
He is due back saturday so I told him not to rush as it is a long journey in a camper van and there isn't a lot he can do - I think I have things under control !
