Just had a phone call from work - someones just rung in sick could I cover the shift ?
An hours notice - what they have only just decided they are ill ? :hmmm
I said yes purely so I can give Andy some extra money towards the dragon - otherwise I would have told them to whistle !

Sorry to hear that DRAGON, but to make you feel better I would happily trade, as my phone call from work today was to tell me that I don't have a job anymore...

Thanks Penfold, I actually worked from home, going to the office regularly to pick up briefs etc. Can you believe I had done an allnighter to get their last job completed on time. I rang to make sure that they had received the files via FTP okay they said yes, thanks very much, by the way we are selling our business and you don't have a contract anymore. So long and thanks for all the fish.

Anyone need a fantastic Graphic Designer?

That's cr@p mate.
Sorry to hear about that.
It is always awful to loose a pet, especially in such a nasty way.

All the best.

Ta LD.  And sorry for the bald statement.  Here she is.  Grumpy like any cat and a bit too free with tooth and claw if she thought you were taking the piss, but also a clown when the mood struck and your best friend ever if you had a handful of food.  Found her as a stray kitten, so as a 'street cat' she was pretty good on the roads.  Still not good enough against the boy racers and BMW drivers who don't realise, or don't care, that the country road turns into a residential 30mph zone a few hundred yards up, I expect.

Edit: just to clarify, I'm a few hundred yards inside the 30mph zone.  Further in than the nearby primary school, too.  But the amount of drivers I see going fast enough to almost leave the ground over the slight rises by my home...

I can't stand boy racers and drivers that don't give a toss.
you have my condolences.

@Vermis.
That's really bad. Whoever hit your cat should have tried to find you and get the cat checked out.
My mate has a cat who is predominately a house cat for much of the day (despite the cat flap) but we are always terrified that she'll get run over. Thankfully she is a scardey cat so stays away from the roads most of the time.

@Bergil All i can say is   :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

Time to take the pone away? Or get the bill in her name and leave her to it.

Passwords ! I got some kind of virus on my desktop last friday and despite none of my anti virus software etc finding anything, XP was being sluggish and programs loaded then stopped responding. Tried a system restore and a couple of fixes a computer guy I know suggested to no avail, so I took the plunge formatted the hardrive and did a re-install. Unfortunately this involved losing everything on the computer as I could't get anything to back up except my i-tunes music folders which I had luckily transfered to my external hard drive last week.
Now comes the problem - some of the tracks I purchased are no longer authorised to play on the computer - that's ok I thought I will authorise this one - errr..... what's my password ?  :scratchhead:

"Forgotten password?"  i-tunes helpfully asks - click on it and get nothing.
Ok thinks me I tried it through the main site - nothing.
Being a bit annoyed at this point and only having a dozen or so purchased tracks I tried to set up a new account only to be told "someone already has this username registered to i-tunes" - I KNOW IT'S ME - I DON'T KNOW THE BLOODY PASSWORD !  :tantrum: :faint:
I'm buggered if I'm going to set up a new email address just to get back on i-tunes - I'm off to find someone with a comprehensive CD collection............  :hmmm
On the bright side I have a nice empty desktop at the moment - just have to rebuild all my bookmarks on the web browser and transfer my pics back from Cheddarmongers & a couple of cds.
Heaven doesn't want me. Hell is afraid i will take over !

Support your local library Dragon.

CD's (albums, double's singles, etc...) cost 1.00 for 2 weeks

Spend twenty squids at library = 20 albums...   :lmao:

Spend twenty squids on I-tunes = you get about 20 songs! and you lose your password  :blub:

Sorry to hear about your cat.  I have a cat too but she stays inside.  We don't let her out because shes too mean, afraid of wind and noises, gets cold and shivers, and there are enough cats around we don't need to add another.  Three or four days before Christmas, I was driving to work when a cat ran out in front of my truck.  I slammed on the brakes, skidded to a stop, barely missed the cat and burst the brake line to the rear brakes, then drove the other 6 kms to work with only 70% braking power, leaking fluid.  So things that p me off "Doing a brake job on Christmas Eve"

Duke, sorry to hear about the job front.

thats all right dragon, we like you and thats what counts.
*a story* my first computer was always breaking down and finally it gave up and died. that year 1999 i bought a new one and before hooking it up me and a few friends took it out into the back yard and set it out. we then took out the old dead comp and set it up and then beat with a few lead pipes till it was a large pile of scrap (it was new years eve). i then pointed to the new comp and said 'behave or else'.
another friend made the joke that the old one was not y2k compliant.

you just have to show technology whos the boss.... :)

Waiting in all day for a parcel, then checking the internet tracker and reading that they "tried" to deliver it at 10:50.

Which is total crap as there were people in the garden all morning.

No van, no card, no parcel means they're talking $%!*

Canada Customs

According to my tracking number, my HF goodies have been sitting in customs for 8 business days.  C'mon you gits it doesn't take that long to check out a few packages.  They've probably eaten my sweeties too, because some twit figured they should open my package to ensure it isn't contraband.  Government jobs must be sweet, sit around all day, do 25% of what you should do, if that much, and get paid a fat whack of cash and a rediculous healthcare plan.

Thats all for now, thanks for listening.
