its been minus 12 here for the last few weeks!

Oh my lord! I don't think it's ever reached -12 here even in the middle of winter in the early hours of the morning. I hope you have good heating!

Some people do. But I still think you can expect a population rise in nine months.

Getting a phone call at 10:50 this morning from the social to let you know the carers you have hired to wash and get the wife up in the morning have closed with no warning at all. they then send a new lot out only to be told that one of them is male which didn't go down too well  :swear: to say the least

oh dear, is she okay.  Must be horrible to be landed with someone completely new for something so personal.  When my ME was really bad at the beginning i had ot have carers come in and i hated it.

@libertee she's OK but  not very happy to say the least, the 2 they sent today had never hoisted anyone before i know they have to learn but to send 2 people with no knowledge is a bit stupid in my eyes. Don't think we will be with them long.

Well over the weekend we only got the 1 carer as asked for, but this morning i got a call from them to say they only had a male carer free to help get the wife up, not happy but said if he is all they had OK,
so let the wife know not happy also but would put up with it, SO they turn up at about 11 (not bad for a 9:30 appointment) to get her up. so the wife decided to make the best of it and asked what the guy was doing for Christmas reply; I DON'T DO  :swear: CHRISTMAS.
I nearly hit the roof when told this upon arriving home now i swear but not in front of some one i have only met once before let alone a female in their own home tyring to be pleasant. needless to say if i get a phone call tomorrow there will be a complaint going in

Very Rude!

Just heard that a convicted murderer of a 4 year-old has been released from prison after 11 years incarceration. The prison system say he is still a dangerous man and has a high likelyhood of reoffending, but he's served his time so has to be let out. I thought prisons these days were for rehabilitation? If they aren't keep them in!

I've had a kidney complaint since I was sixteen I've been told that sometime in the future it may have to be removed. The last time I was at the hospital with the kidney was four years ago and they said that I was coping with an acceptable level of pan and discomfort and that an operation would impact on my quality of life. A week before christmas I ended up going to the doc's with acute pain which would'nt go away they put me on an antibiotic however they think that the time for Intervention has arrived  :blub: I've only ever had the one operation before and the fact that this lies before me scares me silly.

Not good mate - but I'm sure they wouldn't be taking this course of action unless it was absolutly nescessary for your long term health.
Hope everything goes ok

Things that P me O?  Slow/busy posties.  I'm impatiently waiting for my HF goodies, I ordered.  I'm kinda unreasonable that way.

Things that have pissed me off recently...

Getting ill just in time for Christmas.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of customers calling and emailing all asking "Where is my delivery? I ordered it X days/weeks ago". Er, have you looked at the weather recently? Go back into your hole you window licking monkeys.

I wish there was a punchy, one-line way to explain what's pissing me off at the moment, but it boils down to my client wanting to change the entire ending of a piece that we settled on a week or more ago.

This might sound like a trivial thing, but it's all timed out to music and it's going to be a huge pain in my b... neck.  Pain in my neck, I was going to say.

Fortunately, she's offline until Wednesday, so I can stew over it on my own for a day or so.

As long as the client agrees on the extra time and money she'll have to cough up for it there's no problem... but trying to get money out of clients is one of the toughest activities one can engage in.

I'd agree with this 100% if I weren't still waiting for the delivery of a Christmas present which I ordered *NOT FROM YOURSELF, NOR FROM ONE OF THE FOD COMPANIES* (and I was informed had been shipped) at the very start of December (ordered on 4th, shipped on 5th).

The outlaws were supposed to come round tonight but when the time came for them to turn up no show gave it 30 Min's then the wife rang there Mobil no answer, another 10 Min's rang twice then turned off, gave it another 10Min's strait to voice mail then every time after that the same. i should not be supprised as this happens on a regular bases, it just makes me  :tantrum:  that on new years eve they let her down again. With out even a call to say why

That sucks. Especially on New Years when people are usually making plans for the night and sometimes having to turn others down because of previously made plans

Ah, dear friends, after 10 days of antibiotics nothing's happening... except that my daughter has 40 C of fever and we're refreching her head with fresh sponges.
This is the worst New Year ever.

Two-faced peeps.  Say things behind your back for years and accuse you of being paranoid when you confront them about it.  Then when they finally show their true colours their excuse is "well i think it therefore you deserve it and although there is no proof I am still not going to apologise for making your life hell"

People that use the excuse 'blood is thicker than water' to justify why you should forgive them for stabbling you in the back and then try to pretend that nothing happened anyway so lets go on as before and play happy families....perhaps if we dont mention it then we wont have to say "sorry"

hows your daughter?, any better?

@ Penfold...did the carer thing get sorted?  DId you know you can probably employ someone yourself rather than using agency, i am sure there used to be a govt legislation where they give you the funds to buy your own care provider.  It is also illegal for them to send someone around to use any kind of hoist/lifting device unless they have had their lifting and handling course updates/training.  It used to be classed as gross misconduct if a carer is sent to do a job they havent been trained on and if they havent been trained but you show them and then something goes wrong with them then you are liable for their safety and they can sue you personally for any injuries to their person...............as usual the person who needs the care is at the bottom of the pile for consideration because if they fail to cross the sling straps or use the wrong loops on the sling or anythign like that and your wife gets hurt then you have no comeback on them or the agency as you accept liability by default when you show them how to use the hoist.

Sally, you're really a kind one, thanks!
No, here things are going bad.
I, pater familias, was under "normal" antibiotics from December 26th to December 30th, and then under "very strong" antibiotics (funny enough, with these collateral effects are: I cannot stand in the sunlight, possibility to break Achilles's tendon ??? and SUICIDE). And nothing happens, so today I got a x-ray pic of the chest. I will have it in January 14th... and then the idea is: injections.

X-ray for my wife also... very romantic today, both of us in the hospital standing in front of the x-ray machinery.

And this afternoon pediatric control for my daughter Gloria... antibiotics for her too!

Merry Christmas and Happy new Year! And Monday I'll be at work after this beautiful holiday!
