The economy being such as it is.  It's been bad enough not having enough money to get by from time to time.  But now; my best friend's husband lost all benefits and had his pay cut by 25%.  He's lined up another job; which is great.  But the new job is now in Texas.

Which is a two day drive to go visit them again.  This just after spending a holiday weekend with them to celebrate Kris' (my best friend's) birthday.  Found out the day after we got back about the pay and benefit cut.  He had the job offer prior to the holiday; and as going to turn them down to keep their family so close to ours.

Just isn't fair at all, and it really has upset all of us; with I think I'm taking it worst of all.

Bad weekend... wife scraped car (against someone else's at shopping centre carpark), monitor at home died, chipped tooth.

Car: Not that worried about the car. It's nothing flash and isn't new. Only a few weeks ago some idiot rammed a shopping trolley into the driver's side door and paint work is also slightly damaged on the bonnet (thanks to birds ...and me being away and unable to wash off bird crap). All these little things are adding up. The latest is more annoying because it's a small dent and scraped paint and now I'll have to arrange to get it fixed (plus minor damage to other persons car). It will be an insurance job, but I can't imagine I'm going to get out of it without paying the $550 excess. Accidents happen and it's our first one in this car's life, so yep, more of a pain in the arse than anything.

Monitor: This will be a lot more expensive. I do a lot of photographic processing and I need a really good monitor. I've been making do with my old LCD, so in a way this is good news as I can finally upgrade to much bigger and a huge step up in quality ...for about $2000.  :erm:

Tooth: I now have a tooth with a rough cutting edge. It's driving me slightly mad, but it's more of a smooth-off than cap job, so I'll see how it goes over the next couple of weeks. Might be a trip to the dentist if it doesn't wear itself flat quickly. More cash...

AarghI hate chipped teeth. I chipped one a few years back and then the cap popped off (because I was holding a beer bottle with my teeth)about 3 weeks before my wedding. Life does seem to be all about bills these days... sigh.

Getting an interview for a job i REALLY want and then spending 6 hours on a train for a 1.5 hour journey and having to turn round and come home again without getting to the interview due to a loss of power on the train line.

I understand that and accept that sometimes things happen.

But then to be told that i can't have my money for the ticket back because I GAVE UP ON THE JOURNEY!

sheesh!

I smell a small claims court claim coming.

I got burnt today over the tasman, worst summer I've ever had and then we had a scorching day, Actually this is in the wrong thread but still relevant.

It was just a response to Weareblind's comment. Although now that you mention it, a week of 30-35 degree days does p*** me off a little. Our house is very hot after a couple of days and it gets really hard to sleep (and way too hot to paint). I can't even process photos because my monitor is dead, so I'm stuck watching boring one-sided games of cricket.

...still shouldn't complain, this time last year it was 46 degrees and half the state was on fire.  :whaaa:

Unluckily, snow, car and woman, mixed together, had created an accident. Mine.

buying a weekly ticket for a car park only to find that said car park has rented out space to a film crew to park in. Buggers took my spot as well even though they were only supposed to use half of the car park!! They have a standing deal but since the car park went fully automated and has no staff they think they can do what ever they want gits!!! :tantrum:

I'm serving in the RAF. My uniform is predominately grey, I drive along grey roads, under a grey sky to work, I work in a grey hanger on grey aircraft. When I go home I drive along the same grey roads under the same grey sky. hence I don't like Space Wolves.

Now, here I work the United States Postal Service and find Space Wolves interesting.  Granted, I get to wear normal "street" clothes, but I do wear a predominately blue/grey great coat.

But isn't the US Postal Service famous for having it's employees go bat-bumfudge crazy and wrecking up the place, kinda like Space Wolves(and Robot Nixon, of course)?

Actually, the whole "postal" thing was blown way out of proportion.  It's no more or less stressful or possibility of snapping compared to any other line of work.

Now, are there some that IF I do ever snap, I want in my cross hairs?  Um, no comment!  ;)

This being the weekend my best friend moves.  We'll be out of touch for like a week or two.  For the two of us, who chat 5-6 times a week?

Going to be hard.  It might be temporary; but it still stinks to high Heaven.

Thank God both of our spouses put up with us; because I even told my wife, "I'm lucky to have you.  I would of divorced myself dealing with this!!!!"

The wife's widowed Nan got told last November that she has cancer, so a friend of hers told her that she would take her for a weeks holiday. Well she left Monday morning for her weeks holiday for a rest. Then what happens the first night away some  :swear: breaks into her home and steals all the money and jewelry (her late husband had brought her) she had. She nowwants to move from her home of 30+ years. :swear: :swear: People like this make me sick. if they want money that bad get a  :swear: job.
Sorry for the rant had to get it off my chest

At least she wasn't broken in to when she was in the house. Worse things happen then. Then again she may not have been broken in to.
That's really sad to hear.

TOday I had a couple of books I bought sent to me at home and the posty left them on the top of the letter box. It was lucky my wife decided to come home early from seeing some of her friends as she arrived just in time to see a dodgy looking guy reaching out to grab the package. He made a quick getaway when she pulled into the driveway. I'm a little bit angry at the posty (although in the past they have been nice enough to actually come up the driveway to give us a package) but I'm p***ed off with the imbecile who thinks it's a good thing to nick someone elses mail. (It was a Warhammer Rulebook and armylist, I'm sure they would have loved to open it up and have a good read of that :scratchhead: )
They probably would have chucked it in the bin, or sold it online again. :tantrum:

Mobile Phones.
I have had my current one about 18 months and it is playing silly B's with me AGAIN.
These damn things last no time at all for the money you pay for them.

Time to upgrade to something with Android methinks.  The Desire looks nice...and the company have a decent deal on them atm...If the bloody phone company aren't stupid about everything. Which they will be as - for stupid reasons - my mobile is OFFICIALLY in my wife's name (all going back to when I wasn't officially resident in Sweden.)

I have an android phone and at first didn't want to lay out the cash, but now I don't know how I could live without it.
Here we are again bro... Just you and me. Same kind of moon same kind of jungle. Real number 10 remember... Whole platoon, 32 men chopped into meat... We walk out just you and me, nobody else. Right on top huh? Not a scratch... Not a feckin' scratch. You know who ever got you. They'll come back again. And when he does I'm gonna cut your name right into him... I'M GONNA CUT YOUR NAME RIGHT INTO HIM!

I now have a nice shiny Samsung Android phone (cheaper than the desire with - as far as I can tell - the only problem being a slightly smaller screen. For a couple of hundred quid less I can handle that.

Only problem being that I now have to spend bloody ages loading all my music into the damn thing!

Knees.
I tripped over at work a couple of weeks ago and put a hole in my knee (happens ocassionally just the way I walk due to my mild cerebal palsy). The wound had just about healed up and yesterday I tripped  over a tree root walking home from work and have removed an area of skin and flesh about 3 times the size (4cm x 3cm) in exactly the same place !  8:::
And it bloody hurts !
Heaven doesn't want me. Hell is afraid i will take over !
