Unfortunately, people don't give a rat's arse about anyone other than themselves and what they want. So what if it disturbs every one else? So what if they annoy their neighbours? "We're having a good time, so "F*** you!"
Somehow I missed this when it was live, but I want to point out that Lost Bou has hit upon the source of all the ills of humanity.  Social Contract Theory:  the whole community benefits when I work for the betterment of my neighbours.

Or some such.  Don't shoot me if I'm wrong.

Er... so are you fur it or aggin it?

Thing that mildly pisses me off: whenever I'm waiting for a line of traffic to go past so I can cross the road, and the last driver in the line stops to let me cross.

What is the freakin' line of thought?  It holds us both up until I realise the idiot is trying to do me a favour.  I'd be a lot more appreciative if they were in the middle of the queue, or at the head.

Yeah, this gets me too. I understand why it happens: the last guy in line doesn't have the pressure of cars behind him, so he feels he has the breathing space to be generous. But in the time it takes him to slow down and wave you across, he could have passed by, leaving a totally clear road - and no pressure on you when you cross!

Social Contract Theory?  I am SCT, which is why I play games revolving round xenophobia, death, and destruction.  I have to have a little down time every once in a while.  I suppose it is, to some extent, what fuels my ethos and philosophy as a teacher.

How about being forced to walk away from everything that is important in your life and ending up feeling completely empty, lost and depressed?

Sorry - have a bad case of 's**t happens' at the moment...

Bah, do it by hand, ye cowardly dogs!  I bid on the very last second, not a measly 3-5 like the automatic bidders!

...Not that it really matters, since at that point it just comes down to highest bid

Been there, done that, know the hugely sucky feeling that comes with it.

Sometimes I feel like walking away from everything in my life - normally every 2 or 3 months because life and people really get to me sometimes - but  something usually comes along and I feel  maybe my life isn't quite so bad after all. Keep your chin up Jimmy things will get better even if it may not seem like it at the moment ! :yup:

Something that pisses me off: mistaking a green light for a filter light so that you turn into oncoming traffic and get rammed into for your idiocy.

Nobody hurt, but I still feel like a major dingus.

People who don't dip their headlights. I work evenings, and when I'm heading home after a tiring shift I don't really need twin supernova directed precisely into my retinas.
But what really p*sses on my chips is when an approaching car dips their headlights as soon as they see me, then flicks them on to full beam when they are still 2-3 car lengths ahead of me. Where's the sense in that?

Hipsters. Them and being ordered to find them not only sexy, but appropriate, depending on the complete ensemble as related to the environment. If you look up pictures of Asian motorsport promotional girls and see them with waistbands actually at their waists, even if the garments are nanoskirts and bikinis, then compare them to a judgemental normal woman who is covered from throat to toe but leaves a little bit for 2"+ of buttock cleavage to stick out in your face, I think I'll take the race queen more seriously as a person. Then there is the issue of the latter type of person who thinks they know what everyone wants or feels or thinks.

Planned obsolescence.

Customers who can't accept the concept of planned obsolescence.

People changing the port setting on all the printer entries on the computer.

Neighbours leaving garbage in the recycle bin and recyclables in the trash, at home or at work (work is worse because we have to pay to empty the dumpsters.)

Kids being bombarded with all the negativity of the adult world.

Things labelled adult even though they are really the domain of ten year olds who have gotten their hands on a porn mag and some purloined beer.

the fact the simplest swim in the tropics is an extreme sport.

Workmates thinking you can't see something for yourself until they have spouted it out loud.

tv shows that show hobbyists as serial killers or child molesters. crime shows that show teens as either guilty of the crime of that episode or brought bad karma on themselves.

The old "I'm treating you like a child because you're acting like one" crap that parents use when they run out of ideas. Was Himmler a child when he came up with his final solution? A child beats the usual rabid-feral-mongrel-with-a-gut-full-of-pcp act I normally see out of adults.

People who think they have some sort of democratic right to smoke.

Teens not being able to buy basic modelling supplies. As I modelled since childhood I will start killing, no stopping me, if imagined future bans on the sale of paint and plastic fusing solvent to under 18s.

Not being allowed to kill.

people protesting for the "rights" of creatures that, left to their own devices, will kill each other in minutes. They get especially fanatical about trying to stop the removal of feral pests from the environment. Ripper swarms are NOT part of the Daintree rainforest ecology!

out of steam more later.

ps some people around here have some rather boring pizzas.

I wonder why you’re talking ‘cos you’re talking all the time

I had an incident like that, I was ID'd At my work place (supermarket) for super glue.  I had only just finished a 10hr nightshift which you have to be 18 to do.  The women looked some what shocked when I pointed out I was 22, a nightshift worker, tired and very willing to teach her the meaning of silent as the grave.  (I'd had a very very bad nightshift)

Ouch.  Sorry Inso. :(

The old "I'm treating you like a child because you're acting like one" crap that parents use when they run out of ideas.

You wouldn't believe the amount of that I've been getting lately, from my sisters (I can barely believe I'm getting it at all).  'Acting like a child' mostly consists of raising my voice an octave to get a word in edgeways, or having enough and just walking away, when they're in the middle of their rapid-fire criticisms (i.e. treating me like a child).

To be frank, I'm all in favour of keeping hobby knives from you. :P

Something else that pisses me off: Noel Edmonds.  I didn't get why people hated him the first time around; but when I'm slow with the remote and Deal or No Deal comes on the telly; and he launches into his saccharine hyperbole (e.g. "welcome to the dream factory"); and the vein in my forehead starts throbbing, I get it.

Lastly, not so much to do with anger as despair.  I sat in on the local GW's greenstuff masterclass on Thursday.  The redshirt giving it told the poor little newbies that contact with your hands dries greenstuff out, so they needed to regularly re-wet it.  Cue a bunch of kids with amoeba-like 'cloaks', slick and slippery from a good dunk in the muddy paint water, trying in vain to push them on and make them stick to their little SMs and IG.
Oh, and showing off a certain Professor and being asked 'What army is it for?'

I'm getting a lot of that from my friends right now. Playing with little lead men is childish apparently, as is being stuck at home with my parents. "Why don't you move out and get a proper job?" Because I can't afford to move out because I don't have a proper job, I got made redundant remember? And all the applications I'm writing don't seem to be getting me anywhere at the moment, I apologise for not manipulating the employment market to your satisfaction. And point of order... I moved away from my parents and got a proper job before any of you lot did, I've just been forced to move back.
And no I'm not getting married anytime soon.
And no I don't want any kids right now, quit interpreting my lack of interest in that as a damning indictment of all you hold dear.

And I don't care if it is a "good use for all your degrees" I don't want to be a  :swear: -ing teacher!!!
 :grrr:

Sorry about that... spleen vented...  I'm fine again now... :D

Dude... we should form a support group. :D :P

And RE the first bit of the quote: recent reception of a competition prize made me feel a lot better after 'childishness' remarks.  And then some.  Thanks again to the Whites!

Oh, and I might've meant decibels, rather than octaves.  I'm not sure.
