Well, I just got my email in on time, but here are some pics for you :)

This is the first proper diorama I've done, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! And as with Toosh, its the most models I've painted in a short period of time for ages (apart from some speed-painted Mid-Nor). I am really pleased with the result... It was a bugger to photograph though, and I just realised you cant see boris's stubble :(

So I bring you, A Ritual Interrupted

(no, not THAT Ritual...!)

Other pics:
Elf
Dwarf
Waterfall
Slug
Slug 2

I want to try and get some more realistic images... still struggling with the camera...

I hope you like it!

Wow that's simply great.  :applause:

The blending on that blade is lovely. The little touches like the work on the gems are really nice. I think the way it leads the eye towards the slug thing and you can see the path they have taken by looking at the dead slugs is excellent.

Like that waterfall. And the rocks too.

The details like the book make it work really well.

Great.  :notworthy:

Oh yes we want more pictures of the characters!

Excellent paintjob and scenery, very dramatic!

Now I'm really ashamed to have such crappy pictures. I'll definitively have to find how to take some decent ones. Maybe with the daylight... :yup:

The only thing I don't like is being interrupted!! I HATE that...  :grrr:

Oh... I see this wasn't about me...  :erm:

Great work, Peter! And you managed to get all the companies represented! Do you have a close-up of the HF chick? I especially like the waterfall! A great detail!

All these Boris Conversions...

They are great, and I would love to see them in my own collection...  I guess I will have to be inspired to try my hand at making my own...

Well peter, at Salute this year you said "Hmmm, I really must redo that Boris figure on the banner".  And you haven't disapointed us.  :applause:  My only dislike is Boris' over sized axe head, not very balanced is it???? apart from that it gets a  from me

do you have a close up photo of Kalee (b) as I can see her in the big photo but you don't have a small close up of her.

nice skin tone on the slugs.

Nice story, composition, scenery etc, but the one thing that stands out more than anything else is the beautiful use of colour

Particularly on the slugs' and tunnel dweller's bodies

Not much I can add that hasn't been said on this one already I'm afraid. Yes, I'm at a bit of a loss for words on this. Excellent work but that was already established.

That's far to big to find anywhere practical to display it...  ( Grump, grump, grump! )

C'mon, there has to be 'one' fault with it.   :P

Well, now i'm glad I left it too late to enter. ( Was forced into waiting too long to get my minis for me to do a good job on them.  :( )

Simply stunning is all I can say.   :applause:

That's far to big to find anywhere practical to display it...  ( Grump, grump, grump! ) <snip>

Tell me about it....  God only knows where we are going to put this one and mine.... We've only got small figure cabinets on the wall - the cats will no doubt try to use them as comfy 'resting' places (as they do) so it might be top of the wardrobe in a box!

I think mine is more robust than Peters tho - he did silly things like sculpt the little cool candles and flames which pop off in an insant   But I still love this piece  - the best thing is actually looking through the tunnel entrance - such a cool view of the scene, but again, very hard to bring across in a photo.  Nice work honey!  :applause:

Not much to add on this one. Brilliant work. Paint work is excellent and the scenic elements are perfect.  :applause:

...looks like it's back to the drawing board for me. How can I top these entries next year? Obviously something more spectacular is called for. Time to plan ahead.  :scratchhead:

I have some more pics to show :D

Right, where to start...

Boris

Kalee

Sirene

Dwarf Lord

Tunnel Dweller

Also, there are more pics over on Slave to Paint

I am much happier with these pics, but remember that the models are made for the diorama, not the generic base I have painted up, so they don't all fit properly on the base ;)

Thank you all for your kind words - I am glad the diorama has been well received :D
