Best check that Weird West isn't owned by someone...

Wyld West is another option...you'd be needing to check if that's owned too

Plenty inspiration there. As long as characters arent directly ripped off etc.

Since it's to hot for painting I started with my sculpt. Maybe I'll post a wip shot later once it starts actually looking like something.

Here's a link with some pics taken from books (oh, it's an Estonian site. Just click on the book covers to see the pics or click on 'Ainult pildid' below the camera on the left side to see bigger versions on some pics.)

I was thinking maybe goblin sheriff grub kneebiter, complete with grossly oversized sci-fi revolvers, too-long duster coat and big sheriff's badge.

Mini gatlingguns and a hat that keeps sliding over his ears? I bet if we'd collect ideas for a while we'd end up with enough ideas for an extensive range.

Did any of you ever play Septerra Core? There was those c o c k r o a c h*/ bug bandits hiding in the canyons. Somehing ressembling them would fit right in.

Yep, oversize hat included  :D

I think I might spend a few hours sketching some stuff tomorrow, see what I can come up with.  These insect banditos sound quite intriguing, couldn't find a pic of them using google, unfortunately.

The sheriff sounds like he'd be a fun fig to paint! I'm quite curious what all the figs will end up looking.

I'll try to install the game on my current pc, maybe I can take a screenshot of the roaches.

i can imagine that an Illithid Mayor would instigate a Goblin Sheriff just to keep the law off his back, such corruption is common in Hobb's End

What you're doing is similar to the VIP over at 1listsculpting. Over there we're doing space-craft crew right now. It could work better on a mailinglist as it keeps the correspondence together which makes it easier to keep people involved (I've been thinking of doing some special theme based ones on another forum). At 1list most activity is at the start and end.

As to the CMON project, I'm still waiting for my new camera so I can take pictures of what I'm doing so it's delayed right now.

Weird wild west? Nice. We had a fun theme like that organised by Joel Patton but unfortunately I can't remember where to find the pictures of the results. I did a werewolf cowboy at the time. Well, as to this one, I'm in depending on the timescale.

I'm very interested in taking part, but I dont have a camera.
Im no Tom Meir but I would say my sculpts would be about as good as a poor professional if that makes sense. I oculd send a sample to someone if you want. Ill sculpt an entry asap

Do you have a web camera or scanner. Some librarys might have photo gadgets to use or maybe a friend. I would be happy to have a look if you sent it though.

One thing on my mind is size.
I think it should be fairly restricted to say 40mm tall max. Just in case they do get moulded. 40mm should cover most ideas.

What we set at VIP as max. sizes is 20mm thick (perpendicular to mould line), 35mm long (a little more including tab actually) and 35mm wide. If there are separate parts they should be sprued, by preference to the main figure, to avoid extra work for the caster. Perhaps it's an idea to adapt this here too. A reason to set a max size is to make sure they all fit in one mould and the ideal casting conditions are the same for all of them.

By the way, don't forget to tell the caster we want the greens back (made that mistake once).

well i was running on the idea we were using 28mm (god's scale) and only making those that stand of 25mm rounds, for the first lot of stuff anyway

I'd suggest Heresy/Hasslefree size for scale reference.

Sindex has a good rule there.

28mm to eye level for a human. Has to fit on a 25mm base. (or 30mm display base which has a 25mm inset area).

So we go for tabs (my preference)? Or also integral bases?

(Already got a nice figure idea, working title "guns or roses", now just need to find the time).
