There's another I didn't post earlier, because the link to it on the official page was broken, but I've found a copy of it elsewhere.

http://www.okvi.com/design/UploadFiles_design/200509/20050915222358491.jpg

I think this one and the Barber's Daughter would really suit Kev's style.

There are more at http://www.keiththompsonart.com/ but these three are the ones that most appeal to me.

Youd' be looking for the Foresaken Reaver I reckon (as the original concept art for her is almost exactly the same picture but without the hair).

Can't stand Brom's stuff meself but some of the Dark Age mini's are quite nice :p.

On the whole i like Broms work. Overrated yes but most of its quite good. I espeically like the illustrations he does for MtG.

Looking at the DA line i dont think his art transfers to minis all that well. That said i quite like saint mark.

Was balgin right Kev? you sculpted the reaver?

I think sometimes it does. It just seems like Werner Klocke did almost all their early sculpts, some of whihc might've looked more like the artwork if done by other sculptors.

True. Some of the minis are very good translations. Though there are quite a few which just arnt. Now you mention it most of those are the eariler stuff, since i havent looked at the range for ages the new stuff (junkie bald chicks or whatever) look promissing.

What the deal with DA though? Is Brom like a director? Is it his company? or did DA just get permission to base a range on his world, with him producing concept art an such? I ve been wondering for ages, because an artist like brom having such a close and prolonged connection with a mini company isnt really the norm.

Funny you should mention them as I've been looking forwards to them for some time (one of the characters in one of my roleplaying groups is an evil female cultist who's sufferring alopecia and likes to use big two handed blunt weapons, she also often wears heavy armour 'though so I might be doing a fun conversion sometime soon :p).

Dark Age. I made one last year

I haven't seen it. Where can I get one?

I find Brom a bit hit or miss, but when he's good, he's great. This is my personal favourite of his work. A few years ago I ran a Shadowrun character inspired solely by this pic.

BTW, in case anyone's reading this sometime down the track and my Avatar's changed, the picture we're talking about is Brom's Xcess. Google it.

The what? Ain't seeing that in the Dark Age Online Shop yet... They say it can be purchased elsewhere? Hmm.... Looks like Google time then.

Although I do remember that picture being posted here sometime around february (if not before). It actualy looks quite nice.

My favourite comment on the Dark Age forum:

Forsaken should stop getting such good minis, I'm trying to play Skaard here.

Anyway, lovely model, as always. Not sure how much I like the change of pose, but I'll definitely have to get one. Or two. Or... (does quick calculation. runs out of fingers) Lots.

Any news on the release date? Obviously not Jan '06.
