Well, after placing the order for the diorama competition on Tuesday it seems I've hit on a little sales niche for the kiddies at our club.

Fact of the matter is, they love Heresy, hasslefree and Spyglass stuff, but their parents (perhaps sensibly) won't let them order online.

So what I've ended up doing now is saying 'If you want stuff ordering, you give me the cash, I put it into my bank account and order for you, then you'll get your stuff the next week'

I'm currently not charging them shipping as I figure the more trade it brings in for the FoD3 the better.

This week has been a Heresy order (and Spyglass [3 of each]), next week it's a hasslefree, and I suspect it's a big one...well, big for our little club of about 12 people.

I don't know how long it will last, but the kiddies keep visiting the company sites, seeing models they like and saying 'I want one of those too'

One of them was quite shocked I wasn't making anything from the scheme...he said 'I'd charge, like, a pound for each person ordering'

Not particularly honest...but that's the youth of today. I like the companies from this forum and I want to see them get trade. I figure they give us good service, a forum to chat on and a suitable array of freebies that I get enough without having to rip the club people off...besides, if I charged, less people would order.

Great thing your doing there, hope your pointing them to the forum as well.

Don't forget if the order is big enough you get the free shipping for it too.

Are you doing painting, converting and sculting tutes at the club.

I dabble, but we're running lots of games and stuff to keep the kiddies interested. Hopefully soon we'll get more people coming along and I can do something a little more creative.

I'd like to have a day where I could sit down and just paint, but as one of the people who runs the club, I tend to keep an eye on everything else and savour the moments where I get to chat to the people there.

Add to that running a roleplaying campaign and that's my Saturday

Funny, I've considered the same thing (and even done it before on a few joint orders :)).

I was about to mention the free shipping thing. Damn, Wristy, will you let me get ANY helpful posts in? :P

Get them to say what they want and wait till the order cranks up to £20 before paying out. That or appease the God Andy for free shipping, but he is a merciless God.

So these kids see pictures of naked miniatures and order them under their parents' noses?

EDIT: Wow, I'm slow...two people posted in the time it took me to get this out.

Why would you want to start now...  :?

A catalogue would be handy, Andy, Sally is there catalogues for the retailers who get off you.
If there was a downloadable one (without the prices as they can change) that people can get for things like this.

I'm thinking a catalogue of some description might help, that way I can take it along with me and show it to the non Internet types

Your doing your bit (and more) for the 'FOD3' which is great. Anything that will keep these companies going is a good thing. Sure they have some minis which are less than perfect but everyone does. Anyway, they are still some of the most consistant companies going.

Basically. Well done Pockets! Noble work indeed.

If there is a catalogue let me know. I can pass it on to my gaming group.
