Argia Tholos

I've painted up Argia Tholos.

I took my inspiration for the scheme from Vivienne (Dragon Age: Inquisition)

The trim of her coat is the start of my effort this year to develop my freehand techniques.

I think she looks great.  Freehand details are something I want to improve on as well.  Excellent work on the hair shadow, if that's what you can call it.  Really like the crystal on her staff, very cool.  Well done.
Cult of Inevitable Decay painted:  93/123 (Heresy), 22/22 (non Heresy)

What was that universal greeting?  "Bah weep, grah nah weep, ninny bong!"  Hot Rod, Transformers: The Movie

I have a tweeter thing now.  I might even use it.  @leadpaintshed if I can figure out how to

Free hand takes a while to master and white over black isn't the easiest way to start, so kudos to you.  :D
Try first painting the lines in grey, then add white to the highest parts of the detail - it's not only easier to correct with the black, but it'll add more depth to the lining (like you've done on the belt).
Also, add a touch of the base colour to the lower lid of the eyes - this will neaten them up a tad and make them less stare-like.

Apart from that, I really like the scheme. The monochrome works really well with the Nubian skin and the crystal on the staff gives a good contrast, but doesn't overwhelm.

No problem!  :D

I've been painting for more years than I'd like to admit, seeing the hobby evolve through the years and techniques change (I started with Airfix enamels), and I'm still learning.
My philosophy is to achieve a level which you are happy with and refine it. I'm not after awards or accolades, but the sheer enjoyment of the escapism painting gives me. If I can impart some of the knowledge I've attained over the years to others, then its all good karma.
