These three will be a twin-linked heavy stubber team for my Grymn Militarum 40k army.

Cool :)

Are these the first of your army or are there more that you want to show us?

I think that Bonnie and Clyde are the only two Grymn miniatures that I haven't painted... even though I have about 10 copies of them :D

Thanks guys!

Yes, there are more Inso. Currently I have 25 or so Grymn, a walker and a shuttle (a combat patrol sized force is what I'm aiming for). Most is WIP though this team's squad is close to done I think, need to check. I may just rename this thread (if possible) and post the rest on here as the squads become complete.

I also have several Grymn that will be going into the simple green today, as my original polar color scheme looked cool, but was a pain in the a$$ to paint (edit: I saved it for posterity with my avatar). I can crank the red color scheme out fairly quickly.

Well, since you asked:

My Grymndicare Assassin.

2 Troopers. The 2nd one doesn't have a squad color marking, but has since joined my almost fully painted 'Blue Squad'.

One of the Crew of my WIP Grymn Flyer. She is on the flyer's base.

The Grymn's use of A.I. Bots isn't up to par with the Tau, but they're working on it.

However life in the Grim-Dark is rough and on some battlefronts its downright dire! For example: here we see a group of civilian-grade, household-chore bots that have been commandeered by the Militarum. The poor little bots, they weren't even given the courtesy of a repaint before being sent to the front to bolster the ranks! Currently they are getting a crash course on the use of an antique heavy anti-infantry cannon (a.k.a.: heavy bolter) which was recently refitted for use after being taken from a nearby museum...

As you can see, setting up the cannon occurred whilst under enemy fire!

I also like the drill holes on the front of the cannon. Great idea!

Very cool and very striking :)

I love it!

11 troops? Is the one at the front (with the full face helmet) the start of the next unit?

No that's the Ssquad segeant with a Grymn-sized 'Bolter'. The extra Grymn on the twin-stubber base isn't counted stat wise, it just looks cool.

Oh... that sounds fair :)

So what's next?

(... And no. I never tire of seeing nicely painted Grymn  ).

Its a toss up between the Platoon Command squad which uses the heavy bolter team and little bots pictured above, and the veteran squad. Though I ought to work on my 2nd Twin-Heavy stubber team now that I think about it...

This twin-linked heavy stubber team will be for my 'yellow' infantry squad (per their shoulder markings).

In general, the Grymn feel that the civilian chore-bots are completely unfit for combat situations (including their pretty paint jobs!). So rather than being used to fight, they're instead assigned to heavy weapon teams where they serve as grunt labor to haul weapons or as in this case, to pile up rocks for the team to shelter behind.

Thanks! Yeah I've tried to do that with my heavy weapons team with this army, for no reason other than to try something a little different. I rather like the results thus far actually, though as of right now I don't have anymore heavy weapons teams planned.  :scratchhead:

Here's my completed Command Squad:

Ironically while civilian bots are an all too common sight on the battlefield, military grade bots are quite rare due to their high costs and maintenance. As such they're only used in specialized roles. This one for example is the squad's Medical-bot and it has the blood on it's manipulator to prove it!

The C.O. has a domesticated Lesser Mawe with her. They're quite affectionate pets, and this one is snuggling up to the point of practically pushing its owner of of her base! (something any owner of a large dog can appreciate/sympathize with) Lesser Mawes are fiercely loyal and will not only protect their 'pack', but can also be trained to attack at their master's command in combat.

The Lesser Maw will serve as a power maul. Given the sharp claws and teeth, its safe to assume that only the heaviest armor will protect the target of its fury. The 'concussive' effects of a power maul are best summed up by the difficulty in fighting back whilst this little beastie is firmly attached to one's arm or leg!

These are really great and characterful. The robots add a nice touch.
In 2014
Miniatures completed: 18
Miniatures accidentally destroyed: 8
Miniatures needlessly rebased: 6

Thanks!

I just finished my Grymn 'MBT' which will count as an Armored Sentinel in 40k. The model itself is a Rivet Wars Blight Sturmpanzer, but I've dubbed it the Stug.

Piloted by a crew of two, the Stug has served as the Grymn's main battle tank for close to a century now. It is well armed with a general purpose cannon which can fire both anti-armor and anti-personnel rounds. Other armaments can be fitted, but are quite rare. It is also well armored (by Grymn standards), and its walker-type mode of locomotion serves it well in the rocky battlefields of the Gyrmn's homeworlds. Whilst it can't fight in close combat, when attacked by infantry wielding grenades, Stug crews have been known to pilot the tank erratically (read that as: in panic) and sometimes manage to step on an adversary. Such desperate actions rarely save the Stugs though.

This particular Stug has rousted up a feral Lesser Mawe from it's burrow. No doubt the little beastie is hoping the heavy foot falls of the approaching walker will scare up an easy meal...
