« on: December 04, 2014, 12:53:48 PM »
Long time lurker delurking for some help...

I'm moving to Derby to start a hobby related job Monday... in need of some local knowledge.

Any FoDders local to Derby know / recommend a good shop or gaming club?

Thanks in advance

i think you'll find that both Hasslefree and Heresy are based in the derby area... so you'll be spoiled for choice...

me... i'm miles away.

and derby is like close cousins with nottingham which dpeending on your world view is either the heart of everything gaming related ever... or the hells gate.

good luck.

I've never been, but there's a long established gaming club near the new workshop:

Cheers Andy, I had a look at their forum the other day and it was dead... I'll have to pop in and see if they're friendly. When I get time and assuming my employer doesn't work me to death!

@Brandlin - yeah Mantics early Restic models came from hell. Or did you mean another company

@Dragon Andy's minion would be an awesome job.

Derby wargames society is alive (even if their site isn't) most of their chatter happens on FB now.

I go every now and again - Mondays and Thursdays are their gaming nights.

The number of guys there on an evening ebbs and flows, there might only be half a dozen on one night yet there might be 40+ another depending on who turns up.

What do you play?
Once more to the breach my friends...

Cheers,

More of a collector then a gamer, never really played over the years so looking for suggestions. Something skirmish sized and fun. I suspect I'm of a more try my best but still enjoy getting wiped out in random ways type of gamer. Sci-Fi or Fantasy.

I'll download and check out the Open Combat rules now - I love the description of using anything from your collection.  I wonder if Andy will let me borrow the display dragon  :P Heresy Dragon vs hapless group of adventurers...

I'm a total newbie to Facebook - found the DWS unofficial group and the main page. I'll keep an eye out for the next open gaming day and pop along for a look.
