That one is cool. You should make a bloodbowl team of them, pogo stick, chainsaw, ball and chain. :)

I was going to suggest the same thing.

Only if Ian wants to pay me to make a (not)blood bowl team... I have to fill an order for goblin skirmishers with improvised weapons first, then some kobolds. :whip:

Kobolds, I am already toying with some ideas. Improvised weapons are making slow but steady progress:

No immediate plans to start down the not-Bloodbowl route. Lots of other people doing that  :paranoid2:

These are consistently terrific, Tom. Marty's working up some kobold concepts at the minute 8)

Half of a fish?!?
Well, that surely _is_ what I call an improvised weapon!

Belated update on the two work in prgress goblins from the first post. Still unfinished :/ To be honest, I lost my nerve a little on these ones, obsessing over finiky little details like fingers & scale armour.

Plus, now I look at them I think maybe they do not really fit in with the other gobbos... the Toadstool Brownies I'm doing for Fenris are smaller & have a very different, more cartoony look that these guys don't share. I think that rather than Brownies, these will probably end up as full-grown Goblins. When I get around to finishing them.

Whatever, here is another finished goblin, Stinky Tode:

Shave & a haircut, no legs.

(& yes, it is a fish with an ugly face: The deadly Killer Koi, bred by the goblins & used to terrible effect in battle.)

Very ugly face... I think I get the idea... it kills by his mere looks, isn't it?

:faint:

BTW: I like the shave guy. And not just because of my nick.

Been slow progress lately. Too hot & humid to stay at sculpting table for long, putty seems to set too quick in this heat too. But, excuses aside, work has been done:

Was really starting to lose confidence with these, but they are begining to look like Kobolds now. Slightly skeletal Kobolds, adimitedly, but they are taking shape.

That piece of flint just did not want to look like a piece of flint...

The really tricky part is the extra joint in the leg: that whole "knees on backward" thing that birds, lizards & apparently Kobolds have. took me awhile to get the knack of that for some reason. Just sculpt them all standing on tip-toes

This one is very near being finished, just the little fiddly bits to do... the left hand needs to be done, some final tweeking to the tunic, then I have to pry him gently off the cork without damaging the feet... then the base tag needs doing, maybe some more scales on the tail...
Just when you think you're done, you realize that you aren't. Oh, well. Keep plodding on :zombie2:

Dug out one of the old goblins. Been gathering dust on my shelf for far too long, but I have a good feeling about this sculpt now. Green on the left, Marty's concept sketch on the right. Not sure how Mr Whitmore expects me to sculpt an egg whisk at 28mm scale, but I'll give it a go  :silly

Just for reference, how tall is that kobold?
About 15mm to the eye.
