Cheers :)

I have another five (with berets) on the table at the moment. The trouble is, I tried using the plastic arms for them and they just looked so bad that I am going back to the arm sculpting process I have used for the other Squats... so they may take a little while to finish.

The plastic arms are really rubbish when used for two handed weapons :(

The five ladies have wire arms at the moment and will be getting some Green stuff added later :) . I'll get them converted and painted before I move on to the remaining 4 (3 special weapons and 1 comms).

Not something I am proud of (using ACTUAL Lego for conversions...) but I have been mulling something over and it just wouldn't go away :) :

No! Not actual Lego. Won't someone think of the children! ;)
Should be good. I don't think I could get away with even buying or using lego for moulding boxes as my kids would snaffle it away. The Lego wheels do look really good for miniature purposes though.

They've evolved a lot since the one-stud and four-stud wheels of my childhood! But then, all of Lego has. So many colours! So many bespoke pieces!

I'm unable to carry on with them until some parts arrive... so I've put some more information (as well as a scale pic) on my Blog:

Didn't realise how big you are making these. Great troop carrying size.
The Ghar look cool. Way down on my to buy list though.

The vehicles are a bit larger because they will also need to carry Ogryn :)

Plus, I think that they will look more imposing and be a counterpoint to the diminutive size of the Squats :)

Thanks to Ainsty Castings, I now have five shiny new turrets for the vehicles and have started to integrate them into the vehicles:

The angularity and the reverse rake on the nose make me think thunderbirds/Gerry Anderson for some reason (which is a good thing). The curvaceous turret doesn't seem to fit for me, it's probably not helped by the fact it's a different colour right now? I really do like the turret mount though, the way the hull curves and overhangs like a balcony. Not sure why it does that but it has visual interest.

I really get the Gerry Anderson thing... and now that you have mentioned it I can see where you are coming from. I based the initial concept on some Khurasan Miniatures transports but they have evolved a little since then. I think of them as 'armoured airfield fire engines... I am even planning to have a heavy flamer on the front that sort of mimics the foam nozzles :D.

(there is a see through shot glass piece under the overhang that is extremely difficult to see in the picture... but it provides a curved surface that goes from the balcony down to the deck).

It is an evolving process that is dependent on a few components that I have been waiting for (First the wheels, then the main turret and now the side turrets). I have just this second thought about the heavy flamer and realised that I have some Old Crow turrets that may fit the bill perfectly!

Well it would appear that as a result of a side project, I have begun to work on the main event again... here's the army standard bearer (minus the flag):

I may revisit him a bit later but I am just happy to have his arms finished so he is complete... but may get some extra details at a later date (he IS part of the command squad, after all).

... and this, just for interest's sake, is the side project :) :

It is the first of five bodies, the next one is going to be running (and has been started).

You're getting a bit good at this putty pushing malarkey!

I like the banner bearer, that Glaive looks suitably good.
