Hasslefree Dwarf Army (plus a few interlopers).  Tabletop standard at best but I'm still fairly pleased with them!

Nice work :)

They look great together and are an imposing little force :)

Brilliant!!

You know I bought all of those hasslefree dwarfs - but (unusually for me) they dont seem to have got very close to a brush yet!

Thanks all, first time I've ever finished a 28mm army since I picked up my first Citadel minis in 1987! As far a rules go, I've been using Song of Blades and Heroes and GW LOTR. Any other suggestions fro 28mm gaming using figures on round bases?

Have you tried Savage Worlds Showdown? It's a free skirmish rule system from Pinnacle Entertainment (www.peginc.com). It's designed to be standalone or mesh with their rpg system. As the rpg is designed to cover any setting, the skirmish rules are similarly open. You can design any weapons and armour you need (or magic, psionics...) put it into their free spreadsheet and get a points value for your character or units. Highly recommended.

Otherworld will be releasing at some point a dungeon crawl type ruleset using the Crooked Dice Action Engine. It will have that 1st edition d&d style to it.

As a side note, I see you are using the GW LotR movement trays... very handy, aren't they? (I use them to organise my painting table/armies waiting for paint).

You can still get them if you search the GW site... and another couple would tidy up some of the strays you have wandering about ;).

They are damn handy, I actually have another half dozen lying about, just need to texture and paint them.

just noticed this, and must say  lovely looking, the coherent colours, painting style, and basing really tie the army together well.

Never really been a big dwarf fan but people seem to be changing my mind... at least for a small warband of them.
