Non-fighty fantasy heroes (humans)
« on: March 02, 2014, 09:18:47 AM »
I've been looking through the fantasy human range lately, and noticed it seems to be a bit biased towards fighter-types.
Seeing Kev's talent I'd love to see more diversity in the range of his fantasy heroes' vocations.
I think he could make some absolutely stunning wizards, or thieves, or priestly types. I'd love to see his take on these types of "classes"!

I've always despaired at the poor range of spellcaster minis out there. I have a long standing sorceress character, but can never find a decent miniature of a character 'properly' dressed for adventuring, rather than a 'Look at my legs!' (or other body parts) mode.

Sandra Garrity (and others) have made tons of female wizards in long flowing dresses. Reaper and Dark Sword are the places to look.

That's certainly true (and I do own several DS ones). I guess I find Ms Garrity's work oddly excitement-free (and always look like spell cating princesses to me!). Dark Sword can be just awkward to find in the UK without going direct. And yes, both slipped my mind!

I still sy Kev would do a great job though!

I certainly agree with that!

Still, that is basically what you were asking for!  :P

Mind you, Kev would have a challenge...to do such a figure and not make it boring. Could he do it?  :scratchhead:

Nah, I want non-prettified adventuring gear, with cloaks, boots and maybe a lantern.

But they are pretty good, to be fair. Just (IMHO) a little limited and static when it comes to spellcasters.

Yup, to be honest a saucy non-chaotic spellcaster would be good.

Something along these lines:

Brand new Hasslefree mini, Lenora!  A little posey, but she appears to be more prepared than most of her ilk for proper dungeoneering.

Yes, I do like that and will doubtless be buying one.

I'd still like to see Kev do more adventuring types though! I think there's a real issue that there are a great many adventurer figures out there, which limits the potential for new ones. That said, IMHO, many of those out there really are NOT up to Kev's standard.

Ooh, I like her....

Still, I agree with Mr. Teufel and Gangrel, I don't want just any old adventurer models, I want Kev's standard of excellence adventurer models!

I agree with the first statement but not entirely with the second. I think there are quite a lot of good sculpts already out there but I still wouldn't mind if Kev did some more as well.

OTOH, if that stopped him from doing the half-nekkid or nekkid variety then I'm dead set against it!

These days I only have time to paint figures that I'm actually going to use in games, so I'll repeat: bring on the high quality adventurers.   :D

You could do a nudist dungeon... But then you'd need nekkid orcs, and ogres, and hobgoblins, and trolls, etc. as well.

Get Andy to do the monsters, and Kev to do the humans/demihumans.  :P
