Game of Thrones rerun (No Spoilers Please)
« on: June 06, 2013, 10:10:01 PM »
So the wife and I have become big-time fans of Game of Thrones, after getting the complete Season 1 and 2 DVD set, but we missed the start of Season 3 and didnt want to start mid-season. Now we are waiting for Season 3 to be rerun on Sky.

Anyone have any idea when this might happen?

I've yet to see a single episode. What's the appeal for you guys?

Its a very well-written, well-produced programme. It was actually the wife who wanted to watch it, so I got her the first two seasons on DVD. However, when I started watching it, I really enjoyed it. Excellent acting, and the producers have really put a lot into it. There is even a scene in which one of the characters skins a stag while chatting to his son, for which they actually got a butcher to come in and teach the actor how to skin an animal so that they could film that scene authentically.

The characters are complex and three-dimensional, not like the standard stereotypical characters that you get in most fantasy shows. Highly recommended if you have not watched it before.

When did Sky 1 do series 2.  Saw series one, but only seem to see adverts for the stuff on Atlantic which is bugger all help for someone on Virgin.

I didnt think that Sky One had done a rerun of Game of Thrones. Thought that was on Sky Atlantic as well, but I'm not sure. We got the boxed set for both seasons and just watched it on DVD. Only problem is that HBO takes ages to release the damned boxed sets.

And then they whine about piracy...
