A new scifi race?

The problem we have with it is... well, we have no idea what it is! I don't think 'Kev's Brain Itch #264' is a good name/race/idea for a mini so we need some other ideas. Anyone fancy taking a crack at deciding what on Earth Kev has made? Is it a new Sci-Fi race to add to our burgeoning Sci-Fi Universe? Is it a modern mutant? A post-apocalyptic apeman? And just as importantly, do we want more? Thoughts and comments below please!

Copying text anyways, so I just copied my reply from Frothers as well:
Looks like a Neanderthaler/ Goblin crossbreed. Would work well as mutant too, could even add rudimentary horns to the head and use them as somesort of devilkin halfdemon thingies.

Add pointy ears and it could be Panthro from Thundercats.

A Bohkobin? (As a Hobgoblin is to a Goblin, a Bohkobin is to a Bohkin.)

Whatever it is, I want one.

Based on their temporary name, I'd go with:

Species 264: better known as 'Itchers' as they make your skin crawl :)

I was thinking something along the lines of species 264 as well!
It is very cool looking.
How about troglin, kind of like a space troglodyte/gremlin

A Bohkobin? (As a Hobgoblin is to a Goblin, a Bohkobin is to a Bohkin.)

Whatever it is, I want one.

My initial thought is that it was the Bohkin's big cousin type thing too, so I can see them in the same force but an unrelated name would be cool too

"Species 264" would make a great name for how another race (eg Grymn) would refer to them, but not what they would call themselves. Unless they are a failed experiment by the Sleiti ... ? It has possibilities :)

Varga or Kutag or something else short but guttural could work too. They look like they don't want to talk in too flowery terms

Looks like it's related to the model Kev sculpted for that kickstarter campaign a while back . Perhaps the name should be related too .
Balgin Stondraeg, proud member of Clan Stondraeg, son of Guthram, husband of Urwena, brother to Hengrek, Murnak and Dradan. Father of Cigfa. Miserable old fool to disrespectful friends.

How about "Antrop 264," which denotes that this particular lifeform is antropic (or humanoid), one of many, and it's an anagram of "Pantro," as well.   muahahahaha

Engineered from ape and recovered Neanderthal DNA the species was intended for manual labour on colony worlds with a sub-optimal environment where human labour was contra-indicated.
After the facility on Caliban was destroyed by kinetic weapon bombardment during the Third Rim War the labourers were presumed destroyed but a later survey mission proved quite the opposite. They had survived and were thriving, the climatic changes caused by the ill aimed bombardment proved beneficial and they had bootstrapped themselves using the resources left in the facility. Recognised as a independent species they soon became a common sight all over the rim, willing and able to perform manual or unpleasant labour in order to send funds to their homeworld. After a surprising defence, defeating a raider band in the chaos that followed the Fifth Rim War they became common as mercenaries. Well regarded for their tenacity and loyalty they most famously form the bodyguard of the Perpetual Emperor of the Eternal Empire of Dreen.
