Iron Man 3
« on: April 29, 2013, 09:12:43 AM »
I went to see this yesterday and really enjoyed it.

If you haven't seen the Avengers film, there may be a little bit of confusion when people mention New York and worm-holes but if you just think 'they were very stressful times', you should be fine.

My son said that some of the aspects of the bad guy's 'thing' needed a bit more explanation... but being familiar with the comics (ultimate and extremis) it wasn't a problem for me.

I enjoyed the film for its tech and also how they made Tony 'fragile' and Pepper 'awesome'.

And Guy Pearce plays a truly greasy bad guy...

...don't get me started on Ben Kingsley's character

The light at the end of the tunnel is just someone with a torch, locking the gate.

LOL, I thought what they did with the Mandarin was very clever, if a bit of a waste.

The film is great, but don't bother with the 3d version - the effects are so subtle you barely see them so no point.

Too much closure!

Oh, and the post-credits sequence is amusing, but not one I felt worth waiting through 15 minutes of credits for. Should have stuck it in after the cast list etc went up.

 :metoo:

I also agree about the 3D comment... I barely noticed it.

As for too much closure... I would say that it is the start of a new chapter ;)

I really would love to expand on that but it would spoil things for people who haven't seen the film.
