Great stuff. Can't wait for mine to arrive (after Andy's house move).

In other news... the transport is really taking shape. The hull is practically done so I am in the process of adding details and drive systems... and I'll need to do quite a bit of filling too.

I am just waiting for things to settle at Heresy HQ for some more troops to arrive and I'll crack on with them too.

It's all ticking along nicely :)

:metoo:  But I'm waiting for the new Mullet, as well as more pics of your paint slathering.  I wish I had as much time for painting as you seem to, Inso.

I make time. I am an insomniac so I get time in the night to paint... and I don't sit and watch TV/play computer games so I use that time constructively (unless I am too tired... then I internet all the time).

I try to make time but this week I've been sick and quite exhausted.  Maybe tomorrow I can sit down for a bit.

I just need to base the next five and they are finished... should be done by the weekend.

It is another five basic troops with one of them wearing the 'bling' helmet to act as a 2I/C for the squad of ten.

Then it will be time to order anothe five :).

I am just trying to decide how many I can buy without the need for some specialist troops, some different poses and a couple of extra officer types...

... I'm just building these up randomly (very similar to my Tunnel Fighter army... and that ended up at over a hundred troops) at the moment so I am leaving off squad markings so that when 'extras' turn up, I can start sorting them into units.

I reckon a simple conversion of the existing weapon piece could add a bit of interest with a special weapon or two...

And then there were ten :) :

I still have a leader to paint but I will probably convert him... I'll wait until I've painted a few more troopers before I worry about that though.

Cheers :).

Guess what?

Another six have arrived... so I'll be starting the process again. I think this next five will be the same as the last ones, that way I will have time to convert a leader for the five after that :)

So... It has been a very long while... but, as in most things in life, we usually return to the things we like best :)

For the last 16 months, I have been building a Squat army (found here: http://forum-of-doom.com/index.php?topic=17225.0 ) and I am now 'burnt out' so I needed something cool to paint... and Sharclon are just the ticket :)

I haven't got particularly far with them (the week leading up to Christmas is always manic) but so far, they look like this:

I will get these ones finished and then decide what to do next... I daren't plan too much at this stage for fear of losing the muse after such a long run.

I have a further 15 of these and a quite advanced WIP for the hover vehicle... but little steps are what are required at the moment... little steps :)

I haven't got much further on the troops... but I have been ticking along with the transport :) ...

Before paint:

... and with a unifying coat of primer:

I have consciously tried to give it an 'early films' style so have kept it simple with clean areas. The small dome on the top is the cockpit, the domes front and rear are teleportation gates (there are no doors) and the 'radome' on the top is the weapon turret/shield generator. The weapon fires in any direction from the disc.

The basic idea for paint is dark silver with glowy bits :).

Really like that Inso!  :applause:

Its got a cool retro vibe to it, akin to the original Star Trek shuttles, and with a respectful nod to 50's era Sci-Fi.
