The Sharclon have been spotted!:

Here are a few scale pix with various Dwarf/Halfling/Human miniatures:

Cool Inso. As I've said elsewhere.
Who makes the bottom left miniature?

Good stuff.  Good to see scale shots.  I had imagined they'd be bigger, slightly taller than they are, and quite a bit wider than a human.  I was wrong.

On the left, moving downwards are:

HF Grymn
Velard Space Dwarf
Silent Spectre Dhurn

On the right, moving downwards we have:

HF Human
Mantic Forge Father
HF Kindred

... and after someone mentioned the Sharclon eyes, I have blacked them in so they now have black eyes :)

They probably look a bit plain but once I get a squad or two and add some markings to the shoulder (for squad designation) they will look fine... especially in a big group.

They are perfect for my chosen task (enemies for my Grymn) and will look great once I have padded them out with some vehicles and a lander.

Love them.
Andy we need more poses definitely. Then I can buy a load!

MOre poses and weaponry will be forthcoming once I've sorted out the D-word, which will hopefully be before Christmas.

That is good news :)

I look forward to their arrival.

My current plan is to paint squads of five of the existing minis using standard colours (that don't require mixing) so that when the new poses appear, I can pad the squads out.

I shall probably stop at 5 squads (using the existing sculpts) and then pad them out before moving on to other ones.

I have been thinking about vehicles and support and was possibly looking at landing capsules with light-weight hover transport. Until I see what is planned (troops wise) for support, I needn't think about that too much yet.

Hmmm... the wheels are turning :)

Bear in mind I am NOT using any of the fluff from the time-travelling adventures... these are geared soley towards an enemy force for the Grymn.

Good man!
In terms of vehicles, I reckon that they either want all solid-looking anti-grav (coming from a higher-gravity world it would make sense that they invented a form of technology to get around it, but as a belligerent, bullying race with an enormous inferiority complex to over-compensate for, they would make all their kit look intimidating) or if not anti-grav, then their vehicles will look flattened and wide - I hesitate to use the term 'squat' - probably with tracks to spread the enormous loads they would encounter on their homeworld.

They don't have a lot of flexibility of limb, by the way. A lot of their bones are fused together compared to humans - they can't turn their heads much or lift their arms too high due to the way their anatomy has evolved/been adapted for the gravity and walk with a curious splayed-leg waddle that the Earth forces always seem to find amusing until the fighting starts and it's made clear that it isn't a hindrance.

Are you thinking of hover boards, like in "Back to the Future"? :D

More like the skiffs that Jabba uses in Star Wars... but I am thinking I may have to re-think towards something a little more robust.

My thought is something with heavy duty anti-grav pads like the ones on the ships in The Matrix films.

I know all of them (have all of them except Black Cat, and that only because I missed them at Salute) - except Degra - don't remember ever seeing a space dwarf among all their stuff - do you have a link?

Light weight? I'll match my Grymn horde against the might of most people's Space Dwarf contingencies and come out the victor .

I'm not too sure about the green paint job, it looks a little too close to green stuff for my tastes, like they're still being sculpted. I do like the metal armour though, and the guns are neat.

The green is part of my swap to Coat D'Arms paints. I am going through the various colours to see what they are like.

I quite like it but when I was painting it I did think it was pretty close to GS in colour... but I still like it and I am not going to remove the colour from my palette just because it resembled GS (and GS has a range of colours so that would mean not using a swathe of green shades). I think the use of the green and metals doesn't help... but that is the way of it :)

It needed to be dark and I didn't want to use black or blue... because that is what Sontarans use (either current or historical) so dark green was my choice.
