Brown Stuff discontinued by the makers!
« on: January 31, 2013, 09:22:24 PM »
From the email i just got:

Quote
I need to inform you of PSIís decision to discontinue Kneadatite Brown/Neutral and inventory is depleted.

To make a long story short, we used to piggyback this when manufacturing other large private label customers selling to automotive retail outlets - this is how the sculptors first found out.  That business has reduced dramatically, some due to the fact they some have moved to the faster cure stick form, now making it unpredictable when we could possibly have stock again.

We can still offer Kneadatite brown/neutral in small batch quantity consisting of 6,750 - 4Ē pieces or equal in other size.

My understanding is a lot of sculptors liked the brown/neutral because it cured harder, and attached is information on how adjusting the ratio of blue/yellow can alter hardness and cure rate.

Thank you for your understanding and my apology for the short notice for this discontinuation.  Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Looks like the only option for good hard edges is going to be ProCreate in terms of epoxy putty, unless you want to mess about with horrible Milliput and stuff. I've never tried Magisculpt, hard to get hold of.

:lmao:  I thought about asking that, but felt I'd better refrain.  I had a good day today and didn't want to spoil it by being an arse. :silly

Well, I'm considering it, but it represents a 25 year supply...

Andy, I don't think it is worth your while to order such a large batch... won't it 'go off' if it isn't sold fairly quickly?

People will just have to get used to using other putties (Pro-create or a bit of Milliput mixed in with their Green Stuff).

I presume such large orders get a much bigger trade discount.

Someone... somewhere with the money to spare will probably order a bunch, and might be able to supply other hobby stockists at near wholesale prices.

Or a few traders might put in a combined order. That's still a lot of stock to move even with 10 people putting in.

No it's not:

It's resonably priced and lovely to work with. Needs a little gs in the mix imo
