I think I succeded a little too well in painting the dark skin  :? it looks very subtle and realistic IRL, but its completely impossible to photograph well..

A really, really beautiful sculpt this one. (in case you hadnt noticed    )

Great effect on the Marble flooring.  Any tips on how to do that?

Nice job there!

Maybe a neutral, mid-gray background to help with the colors in the photo?  Do you use diffusers on your lights?

I have a black cat, and he's impossible to photograph, so I understand the dilemna!

Very nice!  The skin looks realistic IRL?  It looks pretty realistic in the pix!

It makes me think of the photos that the big game hunters used to take, of the African locals back in the early days of film.

Oh nearly forgot...nicely detailed base as well.

WOW

Nice job overall, I have to agree with everyone else the whites are very nice, and the base is great. the skin seems a little glossy, but even with the shine you can tell it's very well done

Thanks guys, I?ll try and cover the painting - the skin is based on GW scorched brown/dwarf flesh/bleached/green ink/chestnut ink plus a couple of other colours. About 6-7 layers of highlights, strategic shading & glazing with green and brown inks, and finally picking out the top highpoints with a whiter highlight.

I tend to use a satin varnish on skin, which looks good IRL, but the way I photograph minis tends to make the varnish look shinier than it really is.

For the marble flooring I painted the tiles with GW bubonic brown, highlighted this with vallejo ivory, shaded with flesh wash, rehighlighted with ivory, streaks painted on with fleshwash and enforced with a grey/black colour. Glazed with very thin white ink (W&N) to give it an aged, polished look. In retrospect I would have first added streaks with bubonic brown, but this works as well :)

The base is sculpted from GS and painted seperately.
