I never learn.
« on: October 07, 2012, 02:22:52 PM »
E-Bay seems to be my drug of choice lately and I can safely say that I am becoming quite obsessed with it :(

I saw something I wanted on there yesterday so I slapped a couple of bids on (hoping that not everyone had seen the 'bonus' that was in each item).

I bid high... which was a bad idea... I won both items right at the top of my maximum bid.

On the plus side, I got what I was after at a cheaper price than I have seen the same things go at before... but I really didn't want to have to spend as much as I did (especially as I have another bid on something and I have made exactly the same silly mistake there as well! I am hoping that I don't win).

Hello. My name is Inso. I have an E-Bay problem  :tears: .

Just slap it in Gixen and leave it.
I do that, not because I like sniping, but because it stops me from, "Just a bit more..."

Having returned to ebay after a couple of years break, I am currently on a clearout/selling spree. Problem being I am building up a nice balance in my paypal account and am likely to snap and go on a shopping spree, undoing the purpose of the clearout !

Hey, Brandlin. How much did you end up getting from the Grizzlies and Cougars?

Was I close with 35-00 and 25-00?

I had about a break of three months from online auctions. That was the beginning of this year. Since April I've only bought three things. And fairly cheaply too.  Always found myself bidding on something and then seeing something else I wanted more. Now I just think. "It will be on here again. You don't need it now."

With all the extra bits I keep getting with the items I need, I think I need to start selling on E-Bay... or elsewhere.

I have loads of Eldar heavy weapon crews I am not going to use just for starters... and Void1.1 Junkers that I keep getting in job lots... not to mention many others...

Maybe I need to start a sales thread.

I wouldn't call it  a silly splurge... I wanted the stuff but ended up paying more than I wanted to.

The downside to getting the stuff you want sometimes is having to buy 'job-lots'. I have lots of extras that are cluttering things up yet they seem to be the lesser evil on the way to getting what you want.

Can I join your club?

I don't buy much on eBay, actually. But every now and then I'll fetch something and automatically regret doing so. Such happened yesterday.
As you likely know, I have a homemade fantasy setting. I've been working on that again (pimps blog), and on Tuesday I was thinking about minis to represent the various "infernals" (biggest menace of the setting), which are mostly based on the demons from the Doom video game. I already had thought of using converted bloodletters (such as these ones), so searched the web for bloodletter conversions.
I got a little hot headed, and had a look at eBay. There was an offer of 19 plastic bloodletters still on sprues... I bidded. And I won. Mind you, the price ain't bad (26% discount, shippind included). But being the Christmas season it will take at the very least three weeks to get them, and then I will have moved on to some other thing. Also... nineteen of them, all of them for conversions that I don't even know if I'll be able to properly carry. What if I fail?

Now, does anyone have spare kroot heads? Plastic barded horses? Some vespids? Or...?

I have Kroots... but I want to make stumpy Kroots so I don't think there will be any spare heads...

Do the sprues have spare heads on them or just enough for the bodies?

Apparently they come at a rate of five heads per four bodies.

I was wrong. I have received them yesterday. :D I have just finished taking all the pieces off the sprues, and I am seriously considering the possibility to take them and a bunch of paints and brushes to my workplace next week, and paint them during the night shift (that usually involves a negligible workload).
