I just became an editor :)
« on: October 04, 2012, 12:34:51 AM »
As the title suggests I just launched issue one of a new poetry, short fiction and artwork journal. Issue one can be found here; http://www.scribd.com/doc/108896798/A-New-Ulster-Issue-One If you like poetry check it out. I'm hoping it is the first of many.

From your post title I immediately read and reread your post looking for spelling or punctuation errors.
Sadly, the best I came up with was that you're probably missing a full stop at the end of your link, before the 'If'.

:)

I've bookmarked this to read when I relax. I likes me a bit of culture, so I does.

Excellent news on your editorship :)

I had a read through and obviously the writers are cleverer than me because I couldn't make head-nor-tails of most of the poems.

I'll keep reading your mag though... maybe there will be a few poems I can get my teeth into (the current poems are just trying too hard... in my opinion).

Congratulations. It's always good to see peoples interests outside of the miniature hobby.

Thanks guys :) the journal is open to anyone who writes or draws you never know I might even be tempted to put together a sci fi or fantasy issue. I know a few of you guys write as I've been following some of our work :)

Now that you mention that, I know of a guy who has written some kind of science-fiction serial regarding grymns and sleitis that he posted on an on-line forum. Perhaps he could be convinced to polish it a bit for an off-line publication.

Submissions for issue two are open and I have confirmed two poets so far. I am also hoping to do a Halloween special if I get enough work to suit. SO here's the thing if you know of anyone who wants to submit or even if you would like to submit some work. We take poems a minimum of two, flash fiction/ short stories, photography and images of peoples art. It is a good way of reaching a new audience so far 400 copies have been read and several downloads and shares.

How depressing can the poetry be? My poems are usually pretty Emo.

... or they are comedic...

... but never in between :)

Poetry can be anything. A large number of my poems are dark but there are a few light ones as well.
