Cult of the Black Pit
« on: July 17, 2012, 05:00:07 PM »
A friend of mine is starting a Mordheimcampaign and since I had these lads lying around I decided to attend with a Possessed warband.
Mind you that these are all W.I.P. so far

And in the begining there was.... bare metal, plastic and Green Stuff

Second pic to be taken, the 'uniform' was chosen and approved bt the Dark Master: Blueish grey and brown

The boys are growing up now  :happytears:

That's it for now on the painted stuff, I've already got my next hero converted: a mutant

Very cool Patrick. Nice conversions and the paintjobs really suit them. Is that heavily converted one a Warzone Dark Legion Miniature?

Thanks

I have no idea what miniature it is nor who made it, I picked it up at Crisis last year at a '€1 for 6 miniatures' stand.
It was something alien and had no mouth, only sort of gills where his mouth and nose should've been and it had well trained abdomen.

Thought it was that guy. I had that mini when I was a kid and just bought miniatures when I thought they looked cool. THings have changed since then sculpting wise. Still a cool mini and good for conversions

And the gang expands  :woohoo:

3 more Spearmen, another Mutant and 5 Swordmen.

I just made an order at Andy's for 6 more Tunnelguards with bare heads to convert to 5 Bowmen.

I'm going to take your copycatness as flattery   I thought about using those swords but didn't have enough, and they felt too long for me.  On the other hand those sheilds really work well with the tunnel guard.  And because they're pretty much a tower shield you can get pretty dynamic poses with just a little tilt to it.

Looks like someone's giving me a run for my money on guardsmen collecting.  I have eight more guys (two command packs, three priests) and one of Andy's necromancers on the way, oh yeah, twelve more maggots too.  I guess that makes 20 figs. muahahahaha  That means I'll have over 80 dark brethren related models, not counting the necro, who is destined for conversion.

Looking forward to seeing pics with paint.

Thanks all and yes Leadhead, you were my greatest inspiration  :notworthy:

They'll all be up for painting soon, not today though since I got a family dinner to prepare  :chew:

Glad to have inspired you to be brave and convert minis, especially since I'm not the bravest person when it comes to things like that.  Although I am getting a bit more bold.  I got a couple more javeliners converted today.

So, are all these minis ones you had before I posted some of my conversions?  Or did you get them after, and I need to talk to Andy about commission?     just kidding.  Although, it would be cool if some of my tinkering has helped boost sales.

Back on topic, what other things have you got planned?  My next conversion involves Andy's necromancer,  who should get to me next week with a boatload of other guardsmen.

I had most of them lying around the house, they were originally gonna be Chaos Marauders but I did order a few new ones yesterday.
Personally I'd never have considered converting them untill I saw yours

And if you need bits to convert your miniatures I can highy recommend http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/ , they offer great service and fair prices and they're very nice people to boot, I've met them at Crisis last year http://www.tsoa.be/crisis_2012_general.html.
I've ordered my bowmenbits there on monday I think and they were in the mail thursday or wednesday.

So far I don't have any plans for the future with my Tunnelguard/Cultists/Chaos Marauders but maybe this will tempt Andy to resculpt his models so they can have swords and/or axes and shields, in that case I prolly will be reconsidering my Chaos army so I'd say it's about time you start talking to mr Foster about that commission  :lmao:
