Just put in an order.

I have at least one solid idea. Now I just need to come up with two more.

Still haven't got mine :'( ordered on 10th of june too

that is a bit weird, we are only backlogged with armature orders going back about a week /10 days now.  Anything ordered on the 10th June would have shipped a long while ago.  PM me your order number and i will check it out for you

its okay, i did a search and located the order number.  i cant check on anything until i get into the office on tuesday though as we dont keep order books at home.  I will get it sorted for you

Sally :)

A bank is a place where they lend you an umbrella in fair weather & ask for it back when it starts to rain.

most mornings i wake up grumpy.   sometimes i just let him sleep.

my life consists of brief snatched moments of living my life hidden deep among chaos, confusion& the  going crazy, every night i go to sleep filled with hope & enthusiasm for the new day coming.  then i wake up & think "here I go again" & just aim to survive.

Hello. I check Hasslefree's website from time to time and this competition caught my eye. If I bought one of the armatures now would it be sent out in time for me to enter or does the backlog mean I've missed the boat?

Right.  got my order this morning.
first version is on the bench  Just one question  superglue is ok ? isnt it?  if it isnt what can i use to stick bits together, ( please , please let superglue be ok, i hate having to mix pin head size blobs of epoxy just to glue a gun onto a hand)
then all i have to do is figure out how to post pictures here...   ( best yosamity sam voice) " i hates tecnology i does"

then all i have to do is figure out how to post pictures here...   ( best yosamity sam voice) " i hates tecnology i does"
Here's one I prepared earlier:

1) Create an account with an image site such as Photobucket.

2) Upload images to Photobucket using the green "Upload" button.

3) Each uploaded image will have a few different address codes ("url's") in a box next to them. Copy the "direct link" code.

4) On this site, select Post Reply or Create new Thread.

5) In the bunch of formatting icons ('B' for bold, 'I' for itallics etc) you'll find a little square 'picture' on the button in the row below the "B"

6) This creates tags in your text field that look like "http://"

7) Paste your image's address in between the tags: "http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/123/mrteufel/546_large.jpg"

8) Press 'Post'

Note that I put spaces in the tags so they'll be visible in my instructions. Quote this post to see the tags around the image below:

Are we able to use components from other HF miniatures or does it have to be completely original?

They say somewhere around the first post that you can use parts of existing models so long as the result is recognizeably based on the armature.

Also, for the obvious infringement reasons, those existing parts would definitely need to be Hasslefree!

Oh, I am so glad to see that the deadline has been extended to 1st September...
I'm not sure it'll make any difference though. How the hell do you get putty so thin? I was trying to give my figure a belt, it just sits there like a wide metal ring around the torso. Attempting to press it down just cause it to spread randomly into blotches, or rip. Rather frustrating.

I thought it was always 1st September =/ didn't get mine till 12th July anyway, so I'm behind whatever the score xD

Badger, I don't know how much help I can be, only newly learning sculpting myself, but I can offer a few tips!

1) Don't press! Never press! Wipe the greenstuff with a very well lubricated tool. Just wipe it with very minimal pressure - lots of wipes are better than pressing or using too much pressure.
2) keep your fingers and tools wet or lubricated so you don't stick to the greenstuff
3) work in small sections and don't try to do too much at once. It really sucks when you spend half an hour doing one part, move on, then stick a big gnarly thumb right into the bit you just did.
4) patience is your best friend, really. If you get frustrated wander off and kill something. It works for me - do a bit of sculpting, decide it's crap and start over. Do it again, then go play COD till the murderous red rage subsides....

Oh! and a golden tip:

GreenStuff does NOT set in the freezer. If you mix up too much, baggy the excess and plop it in the freezer till you're ready to use it.

Well I am still waiting to recieve my aramtures so the extended dead line is very much appreaciated for me, still hoping to get them before this weekend :)

On other notes:
 1. Will the orginal sculpts be returned after casting or do we only recieve a copy of them?
 2. will Hasslefree make the casting cuts (if they need them) or should the sculptor do that, plus if we think that it may need to be cut should or could we send in photos of the piece before to have advice on that.
 3. Everything is cast or is it only the winning sculpts?

Good luck to everyone, there is some great stuff being posted as WIP.

Sean

The original sculpts are unlikely to be returned... the casting process can be a tad detrimental to them (so they will never be able to say that all of the entries would survive... so better not to return any for fairness).

Last time ALL of the sculpts were cast and we all got a set of the entries... I would suggest that this time around it will be similar.

I would suspect that Kev will look at the pics and decide whether they need cutting and let you know so that you can decide between you, who makes the cuts (not everyone has the right kit for chopping up their minis).

Says in the "rules" that we get a copy of our own sculpt plus a copy of the winning and running up sculpts from each category

Just got my armatures yesterday. Started as soon as possible, which was the time it took me to get it out of the bag. Just did some repositioning. Will post some WIP shots tonight. Mine first is more a terrain piece/wound counter thing.

Hasslefree and Heresy do... I am not sure about Black Scorpion or Fenris.

The colouring in section is where WIPs should go:
