Black hair highlighting?

Hi,

I've never managed to get black hair looking 'right'. Of late, I've been highlighting by adding Bleached Bone to black, although a stunning painter I was speaking to a while back suggested Graveyard Earth. What do FoDders use?

I hate doing black hair but when I do I try to highlight with very thin white building up.

gi6ers:
shadow grey and white for me.

Brandlin:
I highlight with dark blue and then up to ivory

Enazel:
Use Coal black from PP (which is a very dark bluey black) then a small amount of ivory mixed in. often using a wash to reducing colour if I feel its required.
