Kraken Wip
« on: October 02, 2016, 02:28:11 PM »
Seems like an age since I've posted anything on the FoD, that wasn't a compliment or a reaction.  :(
Here's what I've been working on of late, and I'm very nearing completion on this monster.

And a close up of the head tentacles, before I attached it to the body....

The Pics are a bit blurry, and he's moved on a bit since these were taken (barnacles, chain and final details and touch-ups done), and I'll post the finished article when he's based.
All in all, its been a fun figure to paint, but a real PITA to assembly - and those suckers!  :swear:

Got a Madam to paint for Andy next, and she has more suckers than this monster - will the nightmare never end!?!!! :explodinghead:

Crikey, cracking kraken, kudos.  Could resist, sorry.  Who is that from?
Cult of Inevitable Decay painted:  93/123 (Heresy), 22/22 (non Heresy)

What was that universal greeting?  "Bah weep, grah nah weep, ninny bong!"  Hot Rod, Transformers: The Movie

I have a tweeter thing now.  I might even use it.  @leadpaintshed if I can figure out how to

Thanks, and yes, it is a Mierce miniatures product.
I'm doing this for a client, and I've just got the base to finish.
I wouldn't want to build another one, that's for sure. :(
I guess Andy spoils us with his quality control.

An obscene cleaning task was it?

And then some! As lovely as the casts are, there was warping (easy fix), mould slippage, which meant I had to sculpt details back onto the left leg, and the left arm would not marry with the right, possibly due to shrinkage.  :scratchhead:

Apart from that, it's a lovely figure to paint, but I cannot say how robust it would be for gaming, especially in places like the fin spines.

I shouldn't like to transport it around, either, it'd be in bits & pieces with the slightest knock! Great work, as ever, Steve!
