Right. Let's clear this up.
Remember the male Grymn walker pilot? He's got tight trousers and a tight teeshirt. Okay? With me so far?
Remember me saying that this lady will be kitted out the same way as the male pilot?
Can you see where this is going?
That's right, she'll have tight trousers and a teeshirt.
They need to wear tighter, lighter, clothing because of the confines of the cabin. I figure she could have the PDW instead of the male's pistol because, being smaller, she takes up less space and has the opportunity to pack something meaner in the chance of her suit becoming incapacitated and she has to hoof it back to friendly likes.
Quote of the year so far: "Rule 1 of using games that use imagination: You're not allowed to contradict someone else's imagination".
If I wasn't so incompetent I'd be editing that out from the original post so I can claim it as my own. It's ace
Second attempt, the forum went down earlier and ate my post...
Anyway, I agree that the walker pilots will have to wear less clothing, partly due to the confined cabin, but also because it's going to get hot and sweaty in there. Cold weather clothing and other survival gear is only really an issue if they have to operate alone, and could be stowed under the seat, or possibly in a small external compartment (think of the gun compartment on the escape pods at the end of Starship Troopers - although under the seat and thus protected from re-entry etc would be better for those

).
Also, if they're using neural jacks, then a confined cabin is less of an issue (assuming total sensory immersion rather than a hybrid jacked/manual system), because they don't have to move around as much. So, she could well have stuck the rifle in the cabin, and just held it in place with a couple of bungee straps.
Neural jacks might also affect their personality (who wouldn't if they get to feel 10 feet tall and virtually bulletproof - possibly to the point where they're about to suffer full on Cyberpsychosis and start talking to the Mr Flibble puppet attached to one of the guns, when they're retired from service and given a nice warm cup of tea containing half a gallon of sedatives), but as such, they might be allowed a greater flexibility in their dresscode, behaviour and so on.
So on that basis, can we have both the existing one, and the planned, slightly more heavily dressed version please?
