He is about twice the size of the Grymn ones so there is more room to work.

The more practice I get at the moment, the more I want to sculpt...so I'm not surprised by the improvement.

I have always said that sculpting is a mix of tallent, skill...and hours and hours of tedious practice ;).

They say a writer has to write a million words of rubbish before he gets good. Maybe a sculptor has to sculpt a thousand pounds of putty?

You know, if you start selling sculpts of aliens and monsters, it'd get you off the ground as a professional sculptor while you hone your talents enough that you can create human (or dwarven/grymn) sculpts that satisfy your urge for perfectionism.

Looks cool (so does Sharrak).
So are the star league a force of bad guys or another supergroup?

I haven't decided yet...I am just enjoying the muse and I'll work things out when I have to :).

I have another couple of sculpts that are partially finished.  I found them whilst looking for Sharrak and they too, could be either good or evil (both aliens).

They are a pleasant distraction from the thought of sculpting Iron Man and all his panel-lines :D

The good thing about the superheroes genre is that characters that look evil can be good and vice versa. Looking forward to seeing more.

Wouldn't that be Irongrymn? :scratchhead:

And, by the way, I didn't even know Pepper Potts had become a superheroine. I'm very out-of-date regarding Marvel comics.
To be honest, that's a route I don't like; in my opinion, supporter characters should remain that way, because they act as:
1) The common guys you can identify with.
2) The "anchors" that help give some sense of stability in ongoing stories that have dozens of plot twists and ground-breaking changes.

Said that, she looks damn sexy:

You'd be disappointed to learn that Pepper Potts gets badly injured so Tony Stark is forced to turn her into a cyborg to save her life.  There is a battle at the Stark mansion and Pepper manages to escape in her own suit of armour.

The armour is cool...but the helmet is a bit 'bobble-head'.

I bought the Marvel Encyclopaedia yesterday and after looking through it, I was really disappointed to see the lack of 'sensible' female characters.  You can tell that the Marvel world was created by men...most of the superheroines are 'eye candy' and I find that rather disappointing :( .

Out of curiosity, which ones do you think are sensible?

And nice Star Legionnaires. :)

Well, from a purely visual point of view, I would expect most male characters to have trousers and a shirt (whether sleeveless or not).  Generally speaking, I would expect the females to have the same sort of dress code.

Characters like Black Widow, Marvel Girl and the like are what I would call sensible.  They wear a decent covering.  But apart from She Hulk and maybe Ms Marvel (who isn't sensibly dressed), what really powerful Marvel females are there?  I guess Storm and Phoenix...but how many more?  Male wise you have all sorts from Thing to Hulk, Iron Man to Juggernaut, Thor to Wolverine...it just seems to me that the females are there for icing rather than being the cake...and it is a real shame.

...and it is like Ajsalium was saying about Pepper, they just dressed her up in Armour even though she was a sidekick type character...

...maybe there should have been an Iron-Woman all along?

I can't dress it up - that's pretty much what superheroines are for, in a genre still aimed mostly at spotty teenaged (and older) boys.  But there are exceptions, and things generally (sometimes) aren't so bad when you dig past the cover art.

As for 'really powerful' superheroines, take a look round the edges of that cover Ajsalium posted. :)  Right off I can spot about nine or ten that might fit the description, depending on circumstances or your exact definition.

With all that in mind, what about grymn Rogue, with the latest costume?
(I'm aware this is slightly at odds with my sig. )

Bugger, I'm such a nerd.

I really like the Rogue character from the X-Men cartoons (rather than the rather wet one from the films) but she has weird powers that don't fit in too well with the super-serum brief.

Maybe once I have finished the super-soldiers and The Star League, I'll do a few of the more uber-heroes...like Thor, Hulk, Spider Man (not Uber but weird), Rogue etc.

When I sculpt Rescue I am really going to take a lot of poetic licence with her too...

I have been tinkering with an old sculpt and have started to add texture and the like...

My immediate thought is to add this one to The Star League...maybe add some robotic gauntlets to scaly arms...

I am not really sure how I am going to build up the armour yet but the thing I am having difficulties with are the hips/thighs.  Do I go for iron pants or have lizardy ones?

Wings?

Alternatively...he could just be a sci-fi lizard with a BFG...

If only there were some way to show that he had tiny little t-rex arms controlling bigger, more "normally" proportioned robotic arms...

This guy is looking very nice as well!

Nice work Inso again you glorious git I am really beginning to hate you !!!!!!! :applause: now as with your super solider brief I think you may be looking in the wrong place for more sensible if indeed that is the right way to put it super heroines.

Marvel however great it is I always though DC female heros or villans always had the edge when it came down to it. Each one has it's flaws and weaknesses and even though they added much needed eye candy to the storylines they have a greater stake in reality too. Don't get me wrong storm psylock ms marvel and others that are too numerous to mention fit your breif. But DC
Catwoman
Cheetah
Killer frost
Giganta
Screaming banshee
Poison ivy
Harley quin
Living lightning
Sersi

But as has been said earlier Female villains are given short-shrift in comics, though, for the same reason that female heroes are: comics are primarily written by and sold to, boys of all ages.

Lord knows I'm just interested to see who you do next.

I recently bought the Marvel Encyclopaedia...

I liked it a lot...

So I bought the DC Encyclopaedia too...

I am unfamiliar with most of the DC world (except for the most obvious ones) so I have some reading ahead.  I haven't ruled out DC...maybe they will be the more extreme group...who knows?

Next will probably be Iron Man... or Captain Britain...
