Maybe its because my job sucks at the best of times or because I just got rejected for another job I applied for...but I'm really feeling the call of Salute 2012.

yes far too soon, i have just written out a cheque for nearly £1000 for the stand/power etc and salute 2014 would be a good time to pay for it!

I would rather be working in the Heresy dungeon than here in the office. On the plus side, I got some sketches done for some sculpts I want to try!

Been planning for it for ages now. trying to save money to replace all the glass in the cabinets with polycarbonate to reduce the weight and working out cunning plans to make everything more portable so we can just roll it all into place for the most part.

Need to source some battery powered halogen lights or something that could be fixed inside the cabinets!

I'm sure Craig will be telling me everything is done and we will just be painting and doing minor stuff in Salute week - I'll believe it when I see it

Hoping to have some finished sculpts by then!

Osram dot it, several variants from round to linear, some adjustable, some even waterproof. Not that bad, bought one of the round ones when they first came out years ago. Battery's only now starting to show signs of running out.
If you cut ouf small bits of eg the magnet, it's also alot easier to change batteries later on.

I think you'll find most of the Sci-Fi section is already done and set aside.

The fact it is excess stock from last year is irrelevant.

I'll be about for Salute again this year...no Kenya (due to job change - one of the very few downsides to the new job

)...although going to Salute will be good too...

I picked up a set of LED lights; about the size of a coaster. They take batteries and came from Poundland

Two in a pack in think. Might only last the one show but could be worth it

Salute might be strange for me next year as I will be going on my own. Might have to employ the services of Gi6ers as a chaperone!!

Those are the ones we use at the minute - the light isn't very powerful! Need to buy a load more of them and have three times the amount on each shelf or something...

(Have just bought a couple of interesting push-button led lights from Asda to test. Mucho leds in them, so will provide more light than the current ones we use but not sure how long they'll last over a whole show.)
