Space Marine
« on: September 15, 2011, 10:54:13 AM »
Is anyone else playing or is it just me? Got it on PC and it's great fun and even a hamfisted button masher like me can get somewhere in the single player on normal. I keep getting pwned by the freaky-ass reflexes of 14 yr olds from Russia on the multiplayer though :)

Thinking of grabbing it in next few weeks. I don't like online gaming though. Is there any point getting Spce Marine considering I won't be playing multi-player? I mean like, is the single player mode any good? Not too short or anything?
We will use the machine to make them my slaves!

I'm not a big fan of online gaming myself, I'm only really doing it to "add value" to the game. Which kinda answers your question. It's slick, it's immense fun, very pretty and there's quite a lot of variety within the gameplay but it is kinda short, I guess 7 or 8 hours of gametime mebbe a little more (I'm still on what I think is the final confrontation). There's a lot of replayability because it's so much fun (I replayed the demo to death and I'm not really a replaying type) and you can go back and redo it section by section to get all the unlocks after completion apparently. And there are three difficulty levels. But short-ish.

It's a lot of fun, although I like the online multiplayer better than the single player mode. The story's good and all that, but I don't want to be an Ultramarine, let alone one that can't go into battle carrying a storm bolter!
Karloff, Cushing and Lee ftw!

Ah, now I like going online with the bolter with both weapons perks, it's just such a good all around weapon.

More like 1.5 out of two; the multiplayer allows you to be any chapter you like, or even Chaos.
