I've downloaded the parts list and the instructions. Now I'll be trawling bricklink to find all the bits to make my own :D :woohoo:

I always wanted that kit.   LEGO is my other hobby apart from gaming.

Although sometimes they do merge...

I am officially very bloody jealous. That set is the pinnacle of the SWL kits. I NEEDS ONE!!!

I have the Hoth version of the Falcon, a bit smaller, the Walker, all the tie fighters, jengo and Bobba Fett's slave 1 and a heap of the smaller sets. I loved Lego as a kid and my son and I started collecting the SWL when it first came out. I have a few holes to fill, this being the biggest of them...

Why? I haven't got the kit, I just downloaded the plans and need to buy the bits over time.

There's only one essential part that I can't find on Bricklink; the radar dish on the top.

Is that an available kit is it's own right? Or is it something someone has put together from a kit plus extras so it's better?

Either way I'm making sure my two youngest do NOT see this thread!

It's a limited edition thing put out in 2007. I can't remember what it sold for originally, but there was one going on ebay recently for £2K.

That wouldn't have anything to do with wanting to make one would it?  :paranoid2:

What exactly ARE the criteria for working for LEGO...

...other than flency in Danish.

I love lego, had buckets full of the stuff when I was a kid (I think it's sitting around in my mum and dad's attic now).

There's a new Lego Store opened in Liverpool City Centre, they sell individual bricks of various colours and sizes.  Can you parts order the dish?

Next time I am in Liverpool, I can pop in and ask for you if you like.

I have never heard of them making a one off part before.

Normally they create a part for a new project and then start to incorporate it in other future sets, I would guess to make it more cost effective.

Having said that it would explain the high cost of the kit now to collectors if you can't build it due to one or two parts no longer being available.

I love Lego too. One of the things I am looking forward to with kids is an excuse to get lego all over again. And yes I will introduce them to wargaming through it. I used to have tons of fun with the Robin Hood sets which are long out of production and the space sets.
