Sadly I remember most of those but the one thing I loved was specifically wham bars. Wow that's so 1980's of me. Sadly I don't think my teeth would handle them now. Also a fond favourite of mine was highland toffee bars also.

How about Laser Lances?

We got a bunch of the old Swizzels sweets in for trick or treaters and tried a few out like the refreshers chew bars and double dips, I swear I could feel my teeth dissolving!

I recall little plastic coffins with bones inside that slotted together to make a skelly. They had little joints that would connect them together. Made of candy of course. Vampifan, you must remember these!

Absolutely, JP! I certainly do remember them... along with all of the other items mentioned in this post. I'm showing my age here!

I think I got something similar with the candy still in, an orange coffin and a green one.

Don't know, I've got them since many years. I'll try remembering looking up their name.

Kellogs Start! That was a massive disappointment. I don't know why, but when that first came out, I thought it would be the best cereal ever (I was 6 or 7)

Also Mighty White bread! I wonder what ever happened to that?

the other media-inspired doctrine of the last ten years - political correctness? Was Mighty White doomed as a result of its brand name? I can't recall it symbolising the manifesto of the BNP.

Loads of people were allergic to its whitening additive.

I'm half expecting to see Phil Schofield and Ed the Duck in the broomcupboard on tv now ...

Racking my brain I'm scared that I recall laser beams I think but I don't recall them being laser lances ?

Not the same thing :-) Laser Lances were wrapped chew bars about the same size as the big refresher bars, made by (iirc) Bluebird. God knows what the flavour was supposed to be other than pure sugar :D maybe some sort of Kola... They were a sort of semi-translucent orangey colour.

Anyone remember Witches Brew? They were like small jawbreakers with a colour similar to the glossy green-black of Aliens. They ended up getting banned because they were so sour people ended up in hospital.

Sometimes I still sneak a treat of a Wham bar.  At least they haven't fizzled out and disappeared, like Roy of the Rovers bars.

Anyone here of a locality and age to remember Creamola Foam?  I only recently found out it's back (kind of) as Krakatoa.

There is a wee retro sweetie shop near me selling cremola foam and orange poppets.
I used to love that muck too.

I remember some of those :-) I even found a little confectionary store in Belfast which sells old and obscure sweets and choccies. I buy from there from time to time. I remember the days of half penny chews :-) god I'm old :-(

They've changed Wham! bars immensely - same flavour but no teeth-shattering hardness or mouth-lacerating shards of shrapnel. Or rocks of pure sugar-hit coloured with God-knows-what. Now they're just pink chewy slabs. We were giving them out with orders last year as they fit into envelopes without busting the PIP proportions for postage. I was sadly disappointed by them.

You've just got bigger jaws, Andy. :)  Either that, or stick them in the fridge for a bit.

I even found a little confectionary store in Belfast which sells old and obscure sweets and choccies.

Is that the one down Winetavern Street or the one in Queen's Arcade?  Or somewhere else?

Had some wagon wheels the other day. The packet had some text "remember me?" Well I did, and they still taste just as bad as they did before.  :erm:

Wham bars certainly seem less sharp (taste wise) but otherwise similar

Didn't really like Wham bars so much. Irn Bru bars were the best, or maybe it's just a Scottish thing.
