I recall little plastic coffins with bones inside that slotted together to make a skelly. They had little joints that would connect them together. Made of candy of course. Vampifan, you must remember these!

I remember these ! :D

You've just got bigger jaws, Andy. :)  Either that, or stick them in the fridge for a bit.

I even found a little confectionary store in Belfast which sells old and obscure sweets and choccies.

Is that the one down Winetavern Street or the one in Queen's Arcade?  Or somewhere else?

I believe its the Winetavern street one next to a car park up from the Modellers Nook aka the Dungeon aka the place which got me hooked on little lead men  :D

I remember I heard of and went looking for Talisman up Winetavern Street (before it became a Forbidden Planet and moved to Ann Street, and half of previous street got knocked down for said car park).  It meant I had to find the back doors of Castlecourt, which were just beyond a funny little shop I'd never seen before, that sold little toy soldiers in the shapes of elves, dwarfs and space marines.

If I hadn't tried to be a noobie comics nerd, I might not have become a big ol' gaming nerd. :D  Or ever have tried sculpting again, after some uninspiring clay-slopping at school.  You lot - some of you - ultimately have Spider-Man to thank for all my mad rants.  And Thrud, when I saw an ad for an online shop in the back of issue #1.

I first noticed Joe's at the time too, but I don't go there for much: occassional bits of styrene and hobby supplies, and vallejo paints when I used to like them.  These days I mostly go up Winetavern Street to get to Creepy Creatures in Smithfield Market.

(BTW JP, did you used to be a Thursday night vet, in the days of Noel, Ewan, Steve, etc.?  The name - and the wig - are familiar.)

Joe is at fault for my painting also!
Actualy a man called Trevor in Camerons of Ballymena got me my first D&D sets in 1981.
Joe is to blame for the wee men obsession.
And yes, I used to pop in to see Noel a lot, tailed off when Steve was there (less free time) and then quit when they went all "company" and started to piss me off by trailing around behind me trying to sell me glue or somesuch.
We probably do know each other!
Lets have a zombie game sometime!

Joe's found some really old minis dating to the early eighties a mix of early Citadel, Grenadier etc. He also organizes a twice yearly event called Modelfest book a table and meet fellow collectors and gamers in the Hilton at the Waterfront. To date my wife and I are the only regular Sci fi and fantasy types. Joe actually introduced me to my wife and we've been married for ten years  :D
Who would have thought "How do I deal with Umberhulks?" would lead to "Will you marry me?"
